A fire roared in front of Desmond as he sat beside Santiago outside his hut, he wore a glazed expression as he stared into the fire deep in thought. a bowl of bush meat was in front of him but he had not touched it...
"I can see you have a lot on your mind".
"Yes sir, I do." He said. "I still don't understand this whole thing".
" Well let's start with the encounter you had today".
As his mind recounted the event that had happened earlier, his stomach turned sour and he pushed away the plate of untouched food from his front and sighed as he narrated the whole episode.
"I believe that was the Earth goddess...she will not let us win this battle easily". Santiago said after Desmond had finished.
"Who is she?" He asked.
"The Earth goddess has been called many names since time began, she is the ruler over all the Earth and it's inhabitants, she has power over thousands of bloodlines through covenants sealed by their ancestors who like you are suffering till this day".
"Covenants?".
"Sealed by blood, and cannot be broken unless with the ring of truth...she and her hounds of darkness preside over these bloodlines in the realm of darkness and do as they so wish with such people even till the end of time".
"Where is this dark realm?".
"It's not exactly easy to place, but it's a world of darkness, it is composed of darkness to the very fabric of it's existence but it was not always so, not until the fall".
"The fall?,...Of what?".
"The fall of light. You see, the dark realm wasn't always a place of darkness, it was once the field of light where great destinies were made and darkness crushed.."
"What then happened?". He asked impatient to listen to the rest of the story.
" Gaṣhiki and his army of reapers invaded the field of light, he had the greatest weapon ever forged which made him unstoppable, and with that he plundered the field of light in search of one thing, the most powerful object in the whole universe, the orb of light. But the keepers of the field had known this so they had the orb hidden away from him, so he wrecked havoc all over the place turning it all into darkness and the Earth goddess ruled over it all".
Desmond sighed as Santiago finished, but he still hadn't understand, if anything he had more questions than before and they were nowhere near being answered.
