Ophelia suddenly woke up as she looks around, everything was dark, she can barely see the white walls. She tried to move her limbs but she can only move them a bit. She was still in that very same room, but she was glad she was out of that nightmare. Not being to control yourself was hellish enough for her. She wonders why everything was dark until the door of her room got slammed open. “Ophelia.” Hibi approaches her as she spreads her seeds around her and unlocks all of the metal that was pinning her down the chair.
“How did you managed to get out of your chair?” She asked as she looks at Hibi who was busy unlocking the last metal. “I did not, Thilda helped me.” Ophelia was confused, “What? Thilda helped you? How? It’s been like a day and sh—” Hibi cuts her as she helps her stand from her seat. “Nope, we’ve been here for three days. I am the one who first woke up and just spent those days trying to calm myself on not making things worse with Asante. Yesterday he said to me that you were the only one that is need to wake up and he is just too good to woke you up, he even said, ‘I am really not the bad villain here you know’ or something between those lines. I guess that impact that your head received the past day was traumatic.”
“How did you guys even got here?” She asked one more time as the red-haired girl looks at her, “Let’s save the stories for later, we gotta go.” She holds her hand as they escaped Ophelia’s chamber and traverse the walls of the laboratory. Ophelia collects every water she can get as they travel the tube-like halls of the lab. “Staffs.” Hibi shakes her head to throw some of her seeds as Ophelia took them with her water to let them land near the people with white lab coats in the distance. Hibi clenched her fist as her vines grow quickly as it grabs the feet of the unaware staffers. It was prompt to attack them as Ophelia throws water at them at a high speed knocking them back. Hibi keeps growing the vines as she lifts them and slams them at the walls hard. “Come on.” She said as they run once more leaving the unconscious staffs.
“Thilda! You’re okay!” Peony hugs the black-haired girl in front of her. “Three days of finding you and here you are. Asante doesn’t really stop until he wins. Let’s go, let’s find the others.” Peony nods as they took their way to the big underground laboratory. They found Hibi and Ophelia in their way. “Where are the others?” She asked as she rips half of the sleeves of her clothes as she prepares for battle with everyone who comes in their way. “We are finding them too, I found Ophelia’s chamber so I sneaked her out.” Thilda looks around, “I already freed Blaise and Melvin, we just need to find the rest of us.” They all nod as the two pairs part ways.
Ophelia looked at a round rectangle metallic border that seemed was carved in the wall. “That seems a chamber door, open it.” She said as she looks at Hibi, she shook off another batch of seeds and let them grow. It was thinner than what she was used to using. The vines crawled in the door, Ophelia watches how the thin vines just surpassed what Asante deemed as “the best doors ever built”. The vines suddenly went big as most of it entered the door, damaging the side. “Set aside.” The door slammed to their direction and it was only seconds until Ophelia realizes what she needs to do and moves backward seconds before the door could have impacted on her front.
They look inside as their temporary leader was there, all knocked up. They both look at each other with worry in their faces. Ophelia went first as she jogs her way in through his chamber. “Hugo? Hugo?” She said as she shakes the unconscious man. She lifts his head as tried waking him up by shaking his head. She puts his head down as she looks at Hibi, all nervous and concerned. The gal in front of her feels the same way too. Ophelia looks at him again as she tilts his head, exposing his neck, she placed her two fingers, the index and middle finger on it. Her face suddenly enlighten as she can feel the weak pulse that Hugo has.
“He is still alive, just unconscious.” Hibi lets out a relieving sigh, “But how can we transport him when we leave?” She asked as Ophelia thinks and sighs, “Let’s carry him until Blaise is around, I don’t know if he has that thing that restores the magic energy of a person. Since it seems Hugo’s problem since we just fought in a simulation…” She said as Hibi nods and they carry Hugo out from the room he is locked on. Ophelia was carrying his upper body as Hibi was carrying his legs. They ran away from the area as they look for the others in the vicinity.
Hibi suddenly stopped as she saw more staffer. “Hmm… Stay quiet.” She whispered as she shakes her head again, the seeds fell on the ground as her hand moves again and the vines magically grow behind her. They slowly turn as Ophelia assisted her in making Hugo lean on the wall as the vines hold his body. “Now, let’s wreck them!” She shouted as it made the staff’s attention go to them. They attacked them with their powers and abilities. “Come on.” They returned to Hugo as they carry them again and move on to their way.
At last, they encountered Thilda with Peony, Blaise, and Melvin that are carrying an unconscious Alice on his back. “What happened to Hugo?” Thilda asked as she approached them and checks on the person that they are carrying right now. “I don’t know, we just found him unconscious,” Ophelia said as Melvin took him and carried him in his arms even tho he is smaller than Hugo. “It’s my fault, I attacked him and he died in the game.” Blaise sighs as Ophelia holds his left shoulder, “No one is to blame. If we are gonna blame someone, it must be Asante. What we did there was nothing related to us because we will not fight each other. Anyway, you got that finger thingy that restores energy?”
“Oh, Uhm, I hope so, Asante might have stolen it.” Blaise checks the inner pockets of his jean jacket as he hands the device to her. “Thanks.” She said as she approached Melvin as she inserts the device on her index finger. “Are you gonna use your energy? You are from the game, it must have exhausted you.” Blaise said as Ophelia shook her head, “I am fine, I only used a bit, I am exhausted physically because the one controlling me bumped me on the wall several times. But in my powers, I am fine, it’s all hyped up.” She pulled up the sleeves of Hugo as she moves her finger, the needle touching her skin. She moves it forward as it pierced his skin, as she pushes the button, she had a sudden feeling of lightheadedness as she draws back the device.
Hugo’s pale skin became turned into its normal aura. Melvin placed him down, sitting on the ground, and leaning on the wall as he grabs Alice and cradled her in his arms. Ophelia does everything she did to Hugo again as her aura became the normal one she emits every day she is with them. Hugo slowly opens his eyes as he wakes up. “Ugh…” He groans, trying to take grasp of what just happened. They all approached him as he fixed his sitting position. “I… I am not dead?” He asked as he looks at everyone. “Well, you were dead in the game, but you are just unconscious in real life, gladly,” Blaise said as he helped him stand.
“I thought you were dead when me and Blossom saw you unconscious in your room. I was so glad when I feel your pulse, even they are weak.” Ophelia said as Hugo looks around and blinks to adjust his eyes. Not a minute later, Alice woke up and opposed what she felt in the game, her head feels heavy. “My brain is clamped, help.” She said as she dramatically leans on Hibi. “On a serious note, are you feeling okay?” Thilda said as she shook her head, “My head is really heavy, I don’t know why. I might not function well.” Hibi assisted her as they walk through the corridors, meeting the rest along the way.
The lights went on once more, it was not a good sign for them. “Asante have fixed the problem and he might have detected us now,” Thilda said as they armed up. “Let’s head to exit before he can even get his hands upon us.” They were about to run as a familiar voice was heard behind their back. “Too late, I’ll get my hands dirty for touching you guys. Oh wait, I wouldn’t touch you yet, because my experiments will.” They looked in their backs, it was strange, he wasn’t there. Ophelia looks at the speaker, “He can hear us!” She said as she looks where she was looking, “Well, yes I do. They are on the loose now. My advice? Run.”
A pile of different incoherent noises was heard on their right as they saw a bunch of new creatures was charging at them. “We need to take his advice, it could help us a lot,” Ernest said as they started running. Blaise grabs a lone g*n just sitting on a table very conveniently as he shoots at the charging critters to hold them down. Ophelia is sending big waves to Asante’s troops too to hold them down. Hugo has snatched a taser on a dead staff lying on the floor. As they passed an intersection, they saw an attacking mob of creatures charging from where they are heading. They looked at their left and right and it was the same situation.
“We are surrounded!” Hibi exclaimed as the bringers of their death are quickly approaching them. “Well, time to battle without being controlled by someone,” Blaise said as the ones with weapons draw their aces and the rest who rely on their powers prepared. “Charge!” Thilda exclaimed as they separate in different directions. They split their enemies in half, crush them to pieces, crush them to the wall hardly. They did everything they can to fight off the enemies.
“I am sad that you didn’t watch them fight in my game, why are your children killjoys? I am not a killjoy even I grew up in your place. I and my friends are just trying to have fun, why not give us a moment? Researching and experimenting are pretty tired you know, a break won’t hurt.” Asante sighs as he looks at the lady. “The way you are spending your break time is literally hurting everybody.” Asante sighs, “Maybe you can watch them die in my creation’s hands.” He smirked as he manipulated the screen in front of them and switch it to the camera footage of the hall cameras where Thilda and her friends are fighting.
“There, that’s worth a while. Excuse me, Miss Eve, I have work to do, I can’t chill with you.” He smiled as he left the room and left the lady with the staff. With the protective goggles of the staff, she can’t turn them into stone. As Asante left, a dog entered the room which gives her an idea. She looks at the dog as her right eye’s pupil, the eye which she rarely uses, became thinner as the dog started becoming crazy and knocks off everything. It buried the staff that made them immobilize as Miss Eve takes a deep breath and pulls her arm up and moved her feet forward, breaking everything in the process. She stands as some parts of the chair were still attached to her. She grabs the keys of her chair as she unlocks everything and was freed.
The door opens once more as Asante came into the room, “I forgot—” A shriek of a scream was heard next.
