Chapter 50

1592 Words

Nearly a fortnight passed since the first time I had moved my fingers. Viorica hadn't stopped by, but it wasn't unnatural. Sometimes, she would only be able to come by in the hours just after the sun had dipped below the horizon. With the sun still high in the sky, I wasn't panicked over her lack of appearance. Yet, stewing in my own thoughts was enough to regress any progress made. So, I couldn't help but perk up when there was a knock at the door.   The door swung open, but it wasn't Viorica that came through the doorway. From the midnight hair and red eyes, I thought it was my father. But that was impossible. My father was off to war, near the eastern border now according to Viorica. Which meant that my visitor was the other Rhosyn. The heir of our family and my elder brother, Kaius.
