I let my feet carry me to my room as I let the tears run down my cheeks without control. They have finally decided to sell me out to a stranger and called it marriage. At that moment the rain took it as ache to pour heavily. Maybe to celebrate my hard life. Despite how far my room was from the dinning room I could still here them celebrate me no longer being a part of their lives forever. Who am I kidding, I have always know that I wasn't considered a part of the family, still I could not stop the tears that wet my cheeks at the thought of their rejection. I finally cried myself to sleep.
Old habits die hard. After all that happened last night, my body still finds the will to get up at the usual time, 5am. I involuntarily got off my bed, heading down stairs to start cleaning the house. " The least they can do is get the dishes to the kitchen" I complained on finding the dirty dishes they used for dinner still on the table. I quickly cleaning up and making breakfast for everyone before heading upstairs to freshen up and pack the little clothes in the only bag I own, awaiting my fate.
I threw on a pair of blue jeans and red sweat shirt, letting my red hair fall over my shoulder and the tip touching my small waist line and a pair of sandals I had asked Faith for sometime ago. 'Everything will be fine, it's better to be a slave to a stranger than to my family. it will hurt less.' I thought to myself as a way of comfort, hoping for the best out of all this.
" Sofia, it's time to leave." Faith screamed from down stairs. I inhaled deeply to calm my nerves. I went down, pursing at the foot of the stairs finding a man walking into the living g room with his hands in his pocket looking around the house as he let himself in.
" Welcome Mr Scott". Dad greeted as he stretched his hand out for a shake which the guest reluctantly took. " she is ready to leave. come here Sofia ." I took tentative steps towards them moving past mom and Faith. When I was close enough I gasped at the sight of the man before me as I lifted my eyes to greet him but some cat held on to my tongue as those eyes that holds the whole ocean captivates me. The only word I managed to mumble was "WOW".
