********Theo's room*******
Morning came slowly,or rather too fast for Elle.
Soft rays of sunlight slipped through the heavy curtains, landing gently on Elle’s face.
Her eyes fluttered open.
For a moment, she forgot where she was.
Then reality hit.
The large unfamiliar room. The silence.
The weight in her chest.
She sat up slowly, holding the bedsheet close to her body.
Theo was gone.
Of course… he wouldn’t stay.
Elle let out a quiet breath and looked around, the room was sparkling clean.
A soft knock suddenly echoed through the room.
Elle froze.
“C-come in…” she said hesitantly.
She knew it wasn't Theo because he will never knock at any door before coming in
The door opened gently, and a young woman stepped in, dressed neatly in a maid uniform.
She looked calm… but her eyes were observant.
Very observant
“Good morning, ma’am,” she said politely, bowing her head slightly.
Elle blinked, surprised.
“Ma’am?” she repeated.
“Yes. I’ve been assigned to attend to you,” the girl replied.
There was a brief silence.
“I’m… Elle,” she said, unsure.
The maid lifted her head and gave her a small smile.
“I know. My name is Molly.”The maid said
”Molly.. that's a nice name
Elle studied her carefully.
Molly looked kind… but there was something else beneath it. Something sharp.
Elle was very happy, she finally have someone with her
“You’re… my maid?” Elle asked softly.
“Yes, ma’am. I’ll help you with anything you need.”
Elle shifted uncomfortably.
“I’m not used to this… you don’t have to call me ‘ma’am.’” Elle told her
Molly paused.
Then smiled again but this time, it felt different.
“As you wish… Elle.”
There was a slight emphasis on her name.
Elle noticed it.
“Did you sleep well?” Molly asked, walking further into the room.
Elle hesitated. “I… guess.”
Molly's eyes quickly scanned the room... the bed ,the untouched side where Theo had slept.
Or didn’t.
“I see,” she murmured quietly.
Elle caught that tone.
“You see… what?” she asked.
Molly turned to her with a polite expression again.
“Nothing....i mean I see you slept well.”
Elle’s fingers tightened on the bedsheet.
"yes I slept well" Elle said rather audible
She didn’t like that.
Not one bit.
*********Theo's study room********
Theo stood by the large window in his study room, a cigarette between his fingers as smoke curled into the air.
His expression was unreadable, as always.
The door opened without a knock.
Priscilla walked in confidently, her heels clicking against the floor.
“She’s here, isn’t she?” she said, crossing her arms.
Theo didn’t turn.
“If you’re talking about something irrelevant, leave."
Priscilla scoffed. “Irrelevant? You bringing a random girl into your home is not irrelevant.”
Still, Theo remained silent.
That annoyed her even more.
“I saw her,” Priscilla continued, her tone sharp. “She doesn’t look like anything special.”
No reaction.
“She was rude to me . you even saw her yourself at the dinning room , the way she looked at the food ,Like she doesn’t belong anywhere near you.”
Theo finally took a slow drag from his cigarette.
“And?” he said flatly.
Priscilla frowned.
“And? That’s all you have to say?”
She stepped closer.
“You’ve built an empire, Theo. Power, fear, control… and now you’re risking it all for some girl who probably doesn’t even understand the world she’s in.”
Theo turned slightly, his cold eyes landing on her.
“Say what you came here to say and leave.”
Priscilla smirked.
“Fine. I’ll say it clearly.”
“i want her out, I know you want a baby and I can give you that, just get that girl out of here.”
Silence.
“She’ll slow you down. She’ll make you weak.”
Theo’s gaze darkened.
“And from what I can tell,” Priscilla added with a mocking laugh, “she’s already making this empire feels soo empty and things are not working for us both.”
That was it.
Theo stepped forward.
The air in the room shifted instantly.
Dangerously.
“Watch your words,” he said quietly.
Priscilla held her ground, though her heartbeat quickened.
“Or what?” she challenged.
Theo leaned closer, his voice low and threatening.
“You don’t get to speak about her like that.”
Priscilla’s expression faltered for a split second.
That… was unexpected.
“You’re defending her?” she asked, disbelief in her tone.
Theo straightened.
“I’m warning you.”
The difference was clear.
"Theo I am your friend from childhood, I am the only person you one of the people you should listen to " Priscilla said angrily
Theo was quiet
Priscilla clenched her fists.
So it was true.
That girl…
She was already getting to him.
“Fine,” she said coldly, turning toward the door.
“But don’t say I didn’t warn you when she becomes your biggest weakness.”
She walked out.
The door slammed shut behind her.
Theo stood still for a moment.
Then took another drag from his cigarette.
His jaw tightened slightly.
“Weakness…” he muttered.
His eyes darkened.
He was angry
“No.”
