Their Meeting
Elle’s Perspective
I hurried home, my heart filled with excitement,
eager to share my good news with my parents.
I imagined my father popping one of his champagne bottles—
he always did that whenever something good happened.
But the moment I got to the door, I froze.
Something was wrong.
The house was too quiet.
too quiet
Not the peaceful kind of silence…
but the kind that made your heart race—
the kind that warned you something wasn’t right.
I stood there for what felt like forever before finally
pushing the door open.
And then—
gbang!!
I saw it.
My mouth fell open, unable to close,
as my eyes locked onto a scene I had never
imagined in my life.
My entire body began to tremble.
A man sat in my father’s favorite chair.
Tall.
Dressed in a dark suit.
His expression cold… unreadable.
His eyes slowly lifted to meet mine.
My heart skipped.
I couldn't bring myself to look him in the eyes
"What… what is happening?" I managed to whisper.
"Elle… Elle…"
My mother’s weak voice broke through my fear.
That was when I noticed them.
My parents.
My family
The sitting room was in complete disarray.
The moment I saw my mother clearly, my chest tightened.
I couldn't breathe properly
Blood stained her face.
Her body trembled violently.
She could barely breathe.
Tears instantly filled my eyes.
"Mom…"
My voice came out broken as tears streamed
down my cheeks.
My father…
He was shaking too.
But I could tell he was trying to act strong—
just like he always did.
He never wanted me to see him weak.
He always said, “A man can’t be weak in front of his family.”
But I knew better.
He had always been hiding things from me.
My eyes slowly returned to the man sitting before me.
The devil who had walked into my home
and destroyed everything.
The devil who have decided to punish my family for an offense I don't know anything about
"What do you want from me?" I cried.
"What did my family ever do to you?!"
He didn’t answer.
Instead, he gave a simple command—
"Lift him up."
That was when I noticed them.
Bodyguards.
They were everywhere.
They dragged my father forward and forced him
to his knees in front of me.
My breath caught.
He looked up at me—
His eyes filled with guilt.
"Speak!" one of the guards barked.
I stood frozen.
Nothing made sense.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
I had heard stories… whispers…
About a Mafia boss.
But I never imagined—
Not in a million years—
That he would walk into my home like this.
On the day I am supposed to be celebrating,
Or that I would ever stand before him.
My thoughts were still spinning
when the words came—
The words that shattered my entire world.
"You are getting married to Lord Theodore."
Everything went silent.
Darkness swallowed me whole
And then...And then
Nothing.
