Chapter 18 Go To The Orphanage With Daniel

999 Words
Steven was exasperated that Joyce was indifferent. She was no longer the weak one and didn't feel afraid of his threats! She kept threatening him with photos, not giving him the slightest chance. Taking a deep breath, Steven suppressed his anger. He gritted his teeth and asked, "Joyce, what do you want!?" "It's inconvenient to talk on the phone..." Joyce pursed her lips, "Well, Mr. Steven, we'll meet there tomorrow and discuss the conditions since you mentioned the orphanage." "Okay!" Steven hung up the phone angrily. Hanging up the phone, Joyce smiled like a bit of a fox. Steven wanted to threaten her with the orphanage. She would give him a 'big gift' at the orphanage tomorrow! Joyce's brain was spinning rapidly, and a complete plan gradually emerged in her mind. "Are you going out again tomorrow?" Daniel asked mournfully. His newly married wife was so busy that she had no time to be with him. "Yep..." She looked at him and thought for a moment. Then she smiled and continued, "Daniel, do you want to go with me?" "Where?" he asked. "The place where I grew up." Joyce said, "I promise you. It must be fun." "Um..." Daniel's voice became small, turning his head to the side. The next moment, Joyce held his chin. He was forced to lift his head and look at Joyce. A hint of helplessness flashed in Daniel's eyes, isn't his wife too 'domineering'? Every time she held his chin, he would have the illusion that she was the husband and he was her petite wife. "Daniel, you need to be more confident! " Joyce patted his face. "You can't always worry about the scars on your face! If your mind, you can wear a mask." Joyce visually observed that the mask could cover his scars. "Can I ... go with you?" Daniel whispered. "Yes! Of course." Joyce nodded quickly. The Stowe family's reputation could be her shield tomorrow. Daniel was somewhat speechless. He felt Joyce looking at him with terrifying eyes. She might have a new plan. He knew she was planning what to do with Steven tomorrow, and Steven would have a bad day. That evening, the new maids had arrived at the villa, ready to start their work. These new arrivals were all very professional. Joyce also hired a chef from Mastro's Steakhouse. The old maids had to leave the villa in disgrace. Bob lost his rights. He was afraid of causing trouble again. No one inside this villa would listen to him. In front of the new maids, he didn't dare to talk nonsense. Early the following day, Joyce left the villa with Daniel. They went to the orphanage. Arrived at the orphanage, Joyce and Daniel got out of the car together. She looked at the door of the orphanage with a complicated expression. Joyce grew up here, but she didn't have the slightest memory. She would come to the orphanage almost every month for the past six months. She couldn't remember anything. "You grew up here?" Daniel asked. "Maybe," Joyce shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe they are wrong. " Daniel looked up at her. She was smiling, "Come on, don't worry! The people inside are friendly. They won't hurt you. " Joyce pushed him into the orphanage. The orphanage was not big, with only one compound and a few old houses. As they walked in, they happened to see some children playing in the courtyard. When they saw Joyce, they all gathered around happily, "Joyce! Hi! We miss you a lot..." "Hi, everyone." Joyce raised his hand and said, "This brother plays with you. I'll need to find Aunt Doyle. " "Okay!" The group of children agreed in unison. "Joyce was worried. She instructed, "You guys remember not to bully him! If anyone is naughty, I will come back and s***k him!" They immediately agreed. Joyce left and walked straight to the kitchen. In the kitchen, a gray-haired woman was washing fruit. She looked up and saw Joyce at the door. With a loving smile, she said, "Joyce, welcome." Joyce nodded, and there was a touch of softness in his eyes. She was new to everything about the orphanage, including Aunt Doyle. She raised Joyce as a child. She couldn't forget that Aunt Doyle was in front of her hospital bed when she woke up in the hospital half a year ago. Aunt Doyle's face was haggard, and her eyes were full of bloodshot. She stayed in front of Joyce's bed for a long time until she woke up. Joyce knew that Aunt Doyle loved her and cared about her. She would not allow anyone to ruin the orphanage. She had to protect Aunt Doyle and the children in the orphanage. Joyce walked into the kitchen. Knowing she was coming, Aunt Doyle had prepared a lot of fruits. "Aunt Doyle, I told you not to waste money for me yesterday. You need to buy some cheap snacks. Why do you still buy so much fruit?" Aunt Doyle sighed, "It's your first time holding such a big event at the orphanage, and you've invited some famous people. I need to treat them well for you. Joyce, you don't need to worry about me. " "Aunt Doyle, I don't care about them." Joyce muttered softly, "Those people won't appreciate it...." "It's their business if they don't appreciate it. We have to do the best we can." Aunt Doyle was rarely serious. Joyce didn't contradict her. She helped Aunt Doyle wash the fruit together. "Dear, have you remembered anything?" Aunt Doyle's movements paused slightly. "No." Joyce drooped her head. "It's okay. You're assertive and capable now. I don't have to worry about you being bullied." Aunt Doyle lamented. Joyce's lips parted as if she wanted to say something. But she stopped. Aunt Doyle went on to say, "Even if today's event doesn't work out well, you don't have to blame yourself. You're just a kid. I'll find a way to solve it. "
