Chapter 6: Explianations

"Your mother didn't lie when she said I locked her in a room. I did, but I had a reason. Valery was sleeping around, even after I marked her. Whenever I left her alone, she would go have s*x with other people, I had to lock her in a room to stop her from interrupting my meetings as I would nearly die at each one. And I did f**k a few she-wolves, I hoped that she would stop sleeping around when she felt the pain she had been putting me through. I never hit her though, I couldn't my wolf wouldn't talk to me for days after I was unfaithful for the first time. Then she ran away, I had wolves look for her, but they couldn't find her. Until last year. We went to Florida for the Alpha summit, your mother was there working as a stripper. I pulled her from the stage and she said I had a daughter hidden away. She wouldn't tell me where you were." Clyde confessed. I kind of felt bad for him. "She was supposed to be my life partner, the moon goddess chose her for me, and yet she didn't care." "She is a monster." I said. He looked at me questioningly. "Alpha Christian can tell you more than I can." "Valery came to my pack when she was two months pregnant. We gave her a place to stay and she fell for one of our warriors. His name was Ryan, he treated her like a Queen and Reya like a princess after she was born. When Reya was a few months old, Valery disappeared leaving Reya with Ryan. Like I said Reya was treated like a princess until Ryan told us she died when she was three." Christian said looking down. "I don't understand." Clyde said. "Obviously I wasn't dead. But I began to look more and more like the woman who had ripped his heart to pieces and he resented me for it. He would take knives and stab me with them over and over, until I was almost dead. Then he would make me clean up the mess, sometimes they were normal, other times he would coat them in wolfsbane or take out his favored silver knife." I said. I watched Clyde's face go pale, the woman beside him gripped his forearm. I stood out of my seat and pulled up my shirt showing them a part of my scarred torso.  I sat back down and continued. "I couldn't cry out. If I did, it would get worse. If I didn't call him sir, it would get worse. I was there enduring the torture for 4 years, in the end it was his wolf Sergio who saved me. Serg never harmed me, he was usually stuck in his cage, but he would break out and stop the abuse. He taught me pieces of Italian, and treated me like his own pup." I said then I waved my hand at Christian, Kane and Lani "One day we were in a meeting discussing our defensive strategies when Ryan's wolf came out. He begged us to save her. When the meeting was done a few of us followed Ryan home and we walked in to see him throw a tiny pup across his kitchen breaking her arm and leg, then he grabbed the butcher knife. He took it to her abdomen before we could reach him. I lifted her and took her to the hospital where we saw the scars. We decided it would be best for her to live with the Alpha family seeing as she had alpha blood in her." Kane said.  "Before you say anything. She told them my father was Alpha Carson Peters." I said.  Clyde tried to talk, but he couldn't find the words. I sighed, suddenly exhausted. I leaned my head on Hudson's shoulder and closed my eyes. I felt him kiss the top of my head before my world went black.  ...........Hudson POV............. I felt her small body relax on me as she fell asleep, I kissed the top of her head and sighed looking at her shell-shocked father. He was watching us curiously. "She's like my sister." I said to him. "But I have a feeling I know who her mate is." I said looking over at my parents and Kane. "Jonah." Kane said. I nodded my head smiling. My parents looked between us questioningly. "He started calling her Kitten." I said to which Kane laughed at. "Every time I talk to him, it's How is Reya Dad? Is she there? Can I talk to her?" Kane said, causing me to laugh. "He'll be good for her." Mom said. "I knew that the moment she came back from the bike ride they went on." "I thought it was the bike." Dad said making mom laugh. "You're oblivious." She said.  "But that is all she talks about." He said defending himself.  "She likes bikes?" Alpha Clyde asked meekly. "Motorcycles." I said looking down at her. "She also loves fixing cars and skateboarding. She hates talking about the scar above her eyebrow, so don't ask. She also hates the way people look at her clothes, most wolves show skin like they are whores, no offense to anyone here. She doesn't because of her scars, wolves find it odd and look at her in a way that makes her want to rip their heads off. She also loves her family, she would do anything for us, even lie. She told me lying makes her feel filthy and ugly, so she doesn't unless she wants to protect someone." I said staring into his eyes. "She acts like an Alpha?" He asked. "She does." Mom said. Alpha Clyde sighed the woman beside him was glaring at Rey. I growled lowly at her and she turned her glare to me. "Keep looking at her like that and I will rip your eyes from their sockets." I snarled. Alpha Clyde looked over at her and grabbed her hand. Their eyes clouded over as they mind-linked, I played with Reya's hair and looked out the window. (Reya: Thanks Hudson. Her glare woke me up.) (Hudson: Always Rey.) .............Reya POV............. After I mind-linked Hudson I shifted and looked at the woman, as if feeling my eyes she looked at me. "I'm not coming for the Alpha title. I don't want it, whoever you have lined up over at Stone-tree is perfectly fine." I said to her. She looked down and Clyde looked over at me. "You don't want to be Alpha." He asked. "No, I'd rather hang out in the shop than run the pack." I said looking him in the eyes. "But leading is in your blood."  "There are a lot of things in my blood I chose to ignore. One more wont hurt." I said looking past Hudson and out the window. "What if your mate turned out to be an Alpha?" He asked. "Fine, he can lead the pack while I work in the shop." I was still looking out the window, I heard Kane laugh and I looked at him. "Something funny Papa Kane?" "You kiddo. I really hope your mate is willing to live in a shop. Ooooo, maybe you can have a collection of bikes instead of you know normal things like books or mugs." "That is a wonderful idea." I purred. My Broken-arrow family all started laughing. "What?" "You sound like a kitten." Hudson said, between laughs. I sat up and punched his arm, breaking the bone. "You told them!" I shouted making him nod and bite his lip to stop laughing. "If you weren't my brother I'd push you from the plane." I growled.  "Awe don't be like that." Hudson said. "Kitten." I snarled and smacked his head, hard. "Hudson stop." Lani said after catching her breath. I got up from my seat and found an empty one next to a younger Alpha. I sat next to him and huffed at my family. "You don't seem happy small wolf." The Alpha said. I took him in, he was cute his black hair had a widows peak, he had really pale skin so he looked like a vampire. "My family members are assholes." I said looking into his jade green eyes. He smiled at me and chuckled. "Isn't that what family is for?" He asked. "In the privacy of your own pack yes, in public, no." I said. "I'm Alpha Braun of Peak-river." He said, offering me his hand. "Reya Fox of Broken-arrow." I said taking his hand and shaking it. Alpha Braun and I talked for the rest of the flight, he was a really nice guy. I told him about my love for motorcycles and how he thought they were too dangerous for his tastes. When the plane landed I went back to my family and huffed while getting my luggage. Hudson was still giggling at how pissed I was, I decided to punish him with the silent treatment for the rest of our trip. While our parents were in the meetings I spent time in the hotel gym working out, Hudson went to the pool. I looked around and found a cute puppy sticker as a gag gift for Jonah, I also picked up key-chain that had his name on it. Later that day i sat in the lobby looking out the window at the rain, I was surprised when Braun came and sat down beside me. "Whatcha doin' small wolf?" He asked "Watching the rain." I said. "Why?"  "I like the way it smells."  "Is that so?" "Yeah, I mean without the smell of the pavement its nice." "How old are you Reya?" "17 and you?" "19. Reya why does everyone walk on egg shells around you." "What do you mean?" "Today at the Summit Alpha Christian was bad-ass. He was powerful and commanding, I have watched him the past few days, he is like that whenever you aren't around. Then you pop in and he lightens up, every time." "I hadn't noticed." I said looking over at Braun. "Do you know why?" He asked. "I met him when I was a pup, and when he was loud and angry it scared me. I guess he just got in the habit of toning himself down around me." I said telling a half-truth. "Rey!" I heard someone shout. I turned around to see Hudson jogging over to me and Braun. "Come one you're gonna miss it!" He said pulling me up into his arms and running back toward the direction he came from. "What am I gonna miss?" I asked. "Seeing all the King and Queen!" He said excitedly. He pushed us through a crowd of bodies and I maneuvered my way onto his back. I watched as a tall man with fawn colored hair and pale skin walked past us. A gorgeous woman with champagne blonde hair and sliver eyes walked next to him. The were both extremely beautiful people. She had legs for days and curves to make a grown man cry, her smile was breathtaking. The King also had silver eyes, he was 6 ft 4 at least. His fawn hair was shaggy and nearly in his eyes. I layed my head on Hudson's shoulder and clung to him like a koala. I watched as the Queen addressed our parents, Chris's eyes were confused and he nodded his head then bowed to the queen. I watched as a human man looked at her ass and Chris growled at him, the guy looked like he was about to piss his pants. I let my scent waft over to Chris and I watched him take a breath and relax before he told the man to scram. Braun was right, he did calm down when I was around, weird.  "Does dad always do that Hud?" I asked. "Do what?" "Go from 9 to like a 4 when I walk in a room?" "Yeah. I heard him tell mom once how terrified you were in the hospital when he growled, I remember him telling her he would try to keep it down when you were around." He whispered back. I sighed and rested on Hudson, I was so grateful to Chris, and I don't think he would ever know how much.
