Chapter 10 Heidi wasn’t home from the library yet as Karen was setting out dinner. Rob was already sitting at the table as Patrick helped put out the plates, tapping his foot, waiting for the door to open; his face getting darker with each passing moment that his daughter didn’t return. “She probably has a test,” Karen said. “We should eat.” All the food was on the table and the kitchen smelled heavenly. “We can wait for her.
