Chapter 7Charles sat on the rock and drank a cup of coffee, and he walked the gravel road up to the marina. It was lovely. It was as if more air fit into his lungs when he could watch the sea. The walk helped loosen up his sore muscles, but when the pain wasn’t as prominent, his worries occupied his mind instead. How the hell would he live? How would he pay his rent? He had to get a new job, but where? Companies weren’t hiring, and he didn’t have much in way of skills. He’d mostly worked in restaurants, but he didn’t want to work nights, which was why the sandwich shop had been great. He had to find something, though. And fast.
