"Since your father passed away, I haven't been able to meet with you and your mum eye to eye." The Luna said, watching me sweep through the hearthstone, her eyes like a hawk on its prey but softer as I watched her from the sides of my eyes.
"We have been coping to our very best," I answered her without taking my eyes away from my work but watching her carefully still.
"That reminds me, I have never known where you and she live still." She said, her voice livelier.
"We live on the outskirts of the castle." I answered her, standing up to straighten my tired muscles and bones, "Somewhere I think the Luna of our pack wouldn't think of entering." I continued, hoping she'd share her new enthusiasm for my mother and me with me.
