Chapter 5
Most of the travelers are too tired to sleep because of the solar event and jet lag, even Melody, though her husband retired for a mid-watchman’s nap at four in the morning. Karen and Ally tumble in their bed like a storm after their efforts toward patio gardening. Barry and Sharen surf through endless properties for sale on the web while reclined on his sectional sofa. The pilots and navigator are sleeping well after a workout and shower at the airport gymnasium. While the Philips family is in their typical, late-night pattern for the holiday which would continue through the long weekend.
“That’s the last of it,” Ally gasps, collapsing on the sofa next to Karen.
“And, it was a workout.”
