"What makes you think that you're any better for this job?!" Lucas shouted at him, slamming his hands onto the table and abruptly standing.
Ty watched him carefully, an eyebrow lifted. There was anger in his voice as well as fear and something else. He couldn't quite put his finger on what emotion that the vampire was sprouting. Whatever it was though, it had made the boy's usually pale features flush a deep red and his silver gaze swirl like molten rock.
It was a legitimate question that Lucas put forth, one that Ty couldn't really answer right then. Well, he could if he wanted to, but then it would mean revealing his secret and he didn't want to do that just yet. No, he wanted to keep that under wraps as much as possible. Or rather, for as long as possible.
"I have a better idea about this 'Vahn' than you do, apparently," Ty tried, but that didn't seem to help.
Lucas' already angry face turned to rage instantly. His lips pulled back and his fangs were quite visible as he growled in response. If the vampire wasn't careful he'd break the table in two. Or was that even possible? Ty wasn't sure really, but he had an idea that Lucas needed to drink blood first before he could start breaking things so easily. "I agree with Tyrathane, Lucas," Nameia stepped in.
He kept his surprise to himself rather well, only shifting his gaze to look at the demi-
God. Had she really just taken his side out of the blue? It had been a losing battle and
Ty was sure he wasn't going to have Lucas budge on that account. However, with Nameia stepping in, maybe things would be different. A quick look back to Lucas told him everything he already knew.
The vampire was in shock, his face paled and his jaw had almost literally dropped. It took him several moments to recover and respond to Nameia. Lucas looked absolutely appalled at the suggestion. Ty wondered why for a moment as to the demi-God's agreeing with him so suddenly. However, the more he thought about it, the more the answer stood out.
She knew.
Maybe he would talk to her privately afterwards. Keeping her quiet was near top on his list, aside from finding Vahn. That and protecting Lucas, especially if the vampire was hell bent on going after the murderous bastard.
"Why do you say that?" Lucas asked, it was clear he was struggling to keep his voice calm.
Nameia smiled, "Call it a woman's intuition. Just trust me. That's why you brought me, isn't it?"
Silver eyes narrowed slowly as the boy closed his mouth tightly, "That's not good enough, Nameia. I'm sorry," he turned to glower at Ty who grinned at him in return, "My answer remains. No means no. So help me God, if you go after him on your own, I'll kill you myself."
"Are you worried, Lucas? About me? How sweet, and here I thought you didn't really care," Ty taunted lightly, enjoying the look he received. Sometimes it was just too easy to embarrass the vampire.
"Shut up! You better not let me see you tonight."
"I'll promise you that... in return for a kiss."
Lucas lit up like a light bulb then. He straightened abruptly from his position against the table and shot his hand outwards, pointer finger leveled at the door, "OUT!"

Hiding from Lucas was fairly easy. Hiding from Nameia, on the other hand, was an entirely different story. Ty was pulling out all the stops to not get noticed by her. Of course, on the other hand though, he was fairly sure that if she had caught onto his sneaking around, she wasn't going to say anything to the vampire. That made him even more suspicious of her and how much she knew about him.
What could demi-Gods do exactly anyway? He hadn't a clue and it hadn't occurred to him to ask. Damn. Probably should have asked her when I had the chance... he thought to himself as he peered around the corner. The hallway that was cast in a spell during the day was just as silent as it was the night before. No one was there, except for Lucas and the other two women.
Ty quickly pulled back around to avoid being seen. He waited patiently, eyes closed and his breathing stilled. The echo of footsteps followed soon after and he waited a moment longer before peeking around a second time. The only one that was left was Nameia and she was at the doorway. Just as Ty peered around, her head swiveled and her dark brown gaze met his.
His heart leapt to his throat as his eyes widened slightly. Damn that demi-God. As he started to come out of hiding, a practiced excuse coming to his lips, she lifted her hands to her face. One slender finger pressed against her pursed lips. A smile curved there right after and she sent a wink towards him. Ty froze in place.
It took him only a moment to recover though. Nameia followed after the other two without a single word. Ty grinned. So, she was on his side after all, at least in the part of keeping his coming along quiet. That would have to do then. He gave them a good ten minutes before he started down the hall and took the stairs down into the catacombs. Time to go meet and greet Vahn.
"Been a long time coming, demon," Ty muttered to himself, a coldsmile lifting the corners of his mouth. His green gaze turned a sickly yellowas he descended into darkness.
