Chapter 14

Ty moved quickly. He'd been lying the night before when he told Lucas that he'd lost his way in the catacombs. Ty was rather adept on knowing where he was and how to get back to where he wanted to be. Lucas was held tightly in his grip as he ran down the hallway. The vampire was surprisingly light, that or Ty was too hiked up on adrenaline to notice his weight. Behind him, Nameia urged to go faster, her voice hissing out the words and occasionally her hand touched his back to emphasize her point. He was running as fast as he could. He could go faster, but that meant letting that be known and he didn't want to do it right there. It was bad timing. Ty needed a little more time with Lucas, just a little more. Rounding a corner he recognized the hall he ended up in and pushed on further. Skidding to a slight halt, he made the left turn and was in the small hallway that led to the stairs back into the school. Taking those two at a time when he reached them, Ty made the landing in no time. His chest heaved as he turned to see Nameia right behind her. The demi-God's dark brown gaze was wide and her breathing heavy, just like his. Both halted and watched the doorway for a mere moment before moving down the hallway quickly. Briefly, Ty wondered where L'liya was but the thought was soon gone as he glanced down at Lucas who shifted in his grip. "To the council room. It's small and I can put a barrier up there." "What about L'liya?" "She'll figure it out. I'm worried about Lucas." "He can't die from this," Ty said with a raised eyebrow. Even so his throat tightened and his breath caught. "No, but he'll be in so much pain for the next couple of days that it'll be worse than death." "Won't he heal? He's a vampire? Don't they heal quickly?" Nameia gave a sharp, short, laugh, "You really believe in those fairy tales? This isn't a movie or a book, boy! He needs blood to activate those kinds of innate powers. He hasn't had any blood since Ahndrai, you fool." Well, doesn't this work out then, Ty thought to himself, then immediately felt a little bit bad afterwards. Lucas was just barely conscious in his arms and he was taking it as an opportunity. He bit his lower lip... not like he could help it really. With a sigh he allowed Nameia to go first as they had reached the council room. She wasted no time and pushed the door opened, beckoned him in and pointed to the couches. Ty moved to them and laid the vampire down upon one. The door, in the meantime, slammed shut and Nameia raised both hands. The golden light from before flooded her fingers and she reached up to the wood and began drawing something. It was only then that Ty realized the golden light was actually fire. The wood burned, glowing red hot as she carved into it a circle and symbols all around the circle. Tearing his gaze away he looked down at Lucas. The vampire looked terrible, lying there with his blood seeping into the cushions. Well, if he needed blood... he could have as much as he wanted. "Hey," he called softly, leaning down towards Lucas' face, "Don't make me force feed you," he grinned. Even so, he was shaking slightly. This was new to him and he wasn't sure how it worked. "Sh-ut... up," the vampire managed to grind out, a frown on his reddened lips. His fingers gently pressed at the sides of Lucas' jaw where the joint was. Sharp teeth came into view as Ty was so close to him. Lifting his chin, he bared his neck towards Lucas and leaned further down so that his warm skin brushed against the fangs there. There was a soft moan, almost as if Lucas was fighting back. "Hey, remember what I said, I'll figure a way. You should know that by now." "Ty..." "Drink, please?" There was a moment's hesitation and then his skin was pierced. Even Ty wasn't prepared for the feeling that coursed through him. Both hands reached out and gripped the cushions of the couch tightly. It wasn't pain that he felt, no it was intense pleasure. It felt amazing. Ty's breath released in a single whoosh, as he finally remember how to breathe. Lucas' jaw tightened on his neck, a slow feeling like he was moving his jaw up and down increased the feeling that coursed through Ty. The vampire's arms reached up, wrapping around him and holding him tightly. Passed his shortened breathing and hazy mind, Ty glanced down briefly and noted that underneath the torn clothing Lucas' wounds were starting to heal. Ty's eyes closed slowly, a smile pulling his lips. It was working and the relief that flooded him felt just as good as Lucas' drinking from his throat. Slowly his fist released the couch that he'd been gripping so tightly and he wrapped that arm underneath Lucas' shoulder. Bringing him close, he lifted himself up and scooted the vampire over so that he could sit on the cushions with him. "Drink, take as much as you need," he whispered in Lucas' ear. The vampire hummed a reply and continued to lap up the blood that spilled from the two holes in Ty's throat.
