Chapter 6

Ty grinned as he watched Lucas' face turn several shades of red. His silver eyes shifted between him and the woman vampire. Her name was L'liya if memory served him correctly. She was quite pretty too, but he wasn't all that interested in her. No his real interest was standing right before him looking every bit as flustered and angry as he had when Ty had first cornered him. "I've been distracting you? How so Lucas?" "Shut up," the vampire hissed in return rather quickly. Ty laughed softly to himself and took a step back, raising his hands as he went. Lucas whirled around, putting his back to him. L'liya lifted a thin eyebrow, her orange eyes glittering with questions and comments. None of which she voiced though, and probably for good reason too. "I suppose I should thank you for saving him. Thought I was going to have to jump in there for a moment." L'liya shrugged, "I've been with Lucas for a long time. It's only natural." Ty smiled at her, his eyes fixated upon Lucas though, never leaving the boy's frame for a fraction of a second. He wanted to see the vampire's reactions. It helped Ty figure out what he was thinking during such situations. "You can't be here! That still remains. Leave," Lucas ordered, turning just enough to glare at Tyrathane. His silver eyes were swirling, he was angry. "I wish I could... but you see. I've kinda lost my way," he returned, shrugging slightly at the vampire. Lucas visibly ground his teeth together. Reaching up, he ran his hands through his shoulder length hair, pulling it back from his face in frustration. Ty pulled his lower lip into his mouth. Damn... he's freakin' hot... he thought to himself as he watched the shorter boy. "Fine," Lucas' nearly shouted in frustration, "But don't get in the way and don't do anything stupid!" Once again he raised his hands up in the air. He didn't say anything, only nodded slightly in agreement to Lucas' order. L'liya shook her head as she watched both of them. Perhaps she thought it was funny, or entertaining to watch. Well, Ty certainly thought it was entertaining. Lucas was quite adorable when he was angry. "Where to, Lucas?" she asked. "We can't explore this entire place tonight. We'll get through what we can and then come back tomorrow," he answered in an angry, soft growl. "Sure we shouldn't split up?" Ty asked, leaning forward slightly. "No!" Lucas shouted, whirling around to stare wide eyed at him. Was that fear he heard in the vampire's voice? Did he really fear for Ty's safety? How sweet of him. He didn't really need to do that though. "Are you afraid for me? And here I thought you didn't like me. Then again... I am your type, aren't I?" "Will you stop with that!?" Lucas ground out and quickly turned away. "Don't you know how to pick 'em," L'liya commented and started down the hallway at a brisk pace. Ty followed the pair around the catacombs for the rest of the night. Though he really had hoped to find more of the so called 'Stalkers', they unfortunately didn't run into any more of them. The structure was enormous though and he felt that they only just barely covered a portion of it. It made him wonder how much of it there really was and who in their right mind had built the damned thing. One thing was for sure though. Ty was definitely coming back with them the following night, whether Lucas wanted him to or not. Of course there was a couple other things he wanted to do too before the night was out. He could hardly ignore the fact that Lucas had been thinking about him all day. Why else would the vampire be distracted? L'liya had said so herself. That made him grin even more. They finally turned around and started back out of the catacombs a few hours later. Ty had kept quiet for the entire time, letting his thoughts entertain him as they walked. He'd also stayed right behind the pair, mostly so that he could check out Lucas without getting caught. When they finally got up the staircase and back into the school, L'liya turned to them and ran a hand through her hair. "Tomorrow night then? Seems like we won't be able to get here until night time anyway. This hall's been cast under a spell. A strong one too at that." "Yes," Lucas nodded in agreement. "See you then." L'liya turned on her heel and walked away briskly, leaving the two of them at the end of the hall with the door leading down into the catacombs still opened. Finally, alone. Damn that took long enough, Ty thought. His eyes shifted down to look at Lucas, a mischievous smile on his lips. Lucas sighed heavily and started to walk away, but Ty reached out, snatching his upper arm to stop him. "Wait. I want to chat with you."
