Chapter 16

He had the chair tilted backwards, the end of the pen between his teeth as he rocked there slightly. He was supposed to be writing a paper for one of his classes, but instead Ty was staring at his boyfriend-to-be. The vampire was shifting through some papers, work that had piled up over the years since he'd left his position as the school president. That morning, Lucas had gone and announced that he was taking the position up again. The school's president, a man well informed about the vampire's dealings and family, was more than pleased to have Lucas back. Now the boy wore a black blazer with a red and gold arm band on his upper arm. However, that wasn't really the reason why Ty was staring at him. He was imagining the boy without his shirt on. The image was tantalizing as he'd seen quite a bit the night before. The vampire was no skinny little thing, he was well muscled. Very well muscled... Ty hummed slightly. "What?" Lucas growled at him. "Nothing." "You're staring." "Yes." "Why?" The vampire asked impatiently, looking up from the papers with narrowed silver eyes. "It's in the hopes that somehow that obstructing shirt of yours will just disappear," Ty grinned. Lucas' face lit up and he visibly ground his teeth. Too easy... yet so very entertaining, Ty thought to himself as his grin grew wider. "If you're not going to do your homework and only bother me, leave," the vampire retorted coldly. "Oh, don't be like that! You know I'm kidding." Lucas only stared at him, to which Ty chuckled. He let the chair fall down as he leaned against the table that was in the far corner of the council room. Dropping the pen, he rested his head on the palm of his hand that he propped up on the table. "Alright fine, so maybe I'm only slightly kidding, but still." Lucas rolled his eyes, "Oh whatever," he muttered and returned his attention to the papers on the desk. The door opened then and Ty looked sharply to see who had burst in on them. L'liya strode in, behind her another woman followed. This girl he had never seen before and he raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "L'liya! Where have you been?" Lucas asked as he stood abruptly from his chair, the papers forgotten. "Long story. What's important is who I found last night," she answered and moved aside for Lucas to the girl. "Dimiyen!" "Hey, Lucas. So nice to see you again," the woman came around the table and opened her arms. The vampire hugged her and Ty watched, a bit of jealousy rising at the back of his throat. Alright, that's enough let go of him you little wench... he thought sourly. A bit of a pout pulled his lips as he sat there, feeling more than just a little left out. After a moment, he finally stood and strode across the room. Dimiyen released Lucas and stepped back just as Ty came up behind the vampire. His arms draped around the shorter boys shoulders and he nuzzled his head next to Lucas' ear. He grinned at the woman, green eyes sparkling as he felt the vampire tense beneath his hold. "Name's Tyrathane. I'm his boyfriend. Pleasure to meet you," he purred smoothly. Lucas sighed heavily and Ty didn't have to look to know that the shorter boy was rolling his eyes. "Nice to meet you, I'm Dimiyen. I've known Lucas since I was a little girl. Don't worry, he's a brother to me," she laughed lightly. "Ah," Ty nodded. "It's been so long, Dimiyen. Where have you been?" "That's why I brought her. You'll want to hear this, Lucas. But you might want to sit down. I guarantee that you're not going to like it," L'liya said. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she watched them. Ty lifted himself from the vampire's shoulders. He had the feeling that things were going to get tense rather quickly. He moved out from behind the desk that was Lucas' and took a seat on the couch, spreading his arms across the back of the sofa. Dimiyen took a seat on the opposite couch, her legs close together and hands between her thighs as she sat there. The position spoke volumes to Ty. She was nervous about something. The look on her pretty face didn't help either. Reaching up, she brushed back her long red hair. It was only then that Ty noted her eyes were a very pretty reddish-brown. Definitely not human... wonder what she is. "That night... when we wentwith Vahn. After you'd been trapped in that magic circle of his, I went afterhim hoping to catch him, but... it didn't work out very well. Things went southreally quickly when I finally caught up to him," she started. Dimiyen lookedover to Lucas, "I've been his prisoner for the past few years."
