I walked outside to check and see if I saw their car. I saw an all black TX160. I knew it had to be Cameron & Colton because this car was one of their newer cars that just came out. I’ve always wanted a car like this but it is very expensive, the starting price is $500,000. I walked to the car, I pulled at the door handle but it was locked. I rolled my eyes and knocked on the window. The driver side door opened and another fine Greek like god stepped out of the car. He had caramel skin with tattoos on his neck. He had the most beautiful crimson red eyes I’d ever seen. What is up with all these fine men tonight?! I thought. He smiled at me like he knew what I was thinking. Even his smile had me mesmerized, I opened my mouth to apologize but nothing came out.

“Wrong car?”

“Uhh.. yea I-I’m sorry. I was looking for my ride”

“Oh? They aren’t here” He asked me while looking around.

“I’m sure they are around here somewhere. I’m sorry again”

I turned around to walk away

“Hey, wait”. I turned back around to look at him

“I don’t mean to be forward but are you single?”

I blushed at his boldness. “Yes I am, why do you ask?”

“I wanted to know if I could take you to dinner sometime”. I smiled at him. NO one has ever asked me on a date before.

“Uhh-”. Before I could get another word out, Cameron came up.

“There you are, we were waiting for you in the back”. Cameron stopped dead in his tracks when he and the handsome stranger made eye contact. They were glaring each other down like they were enemies. I saw Colton & Brandon walk up behind us not taking their eyes off of the stranger. Cameron finally spoke.

“Lenelle”

“Cameron”

“Aphrodite, go with Brandon and Colton”

“But we were-”

“NOW!”. I jumped at the tone in his voice. His eyes seemed to get darker as he looked at me. I wasn’t scared. It actually hurt my feelings that he yelled at me. I don’t know why but it did. I looked at him on the brim of tears, I saw his eyes soften going back to his original chestnut brown color. I turned my attention back to the man, Lenelle, giving him an apologetic look. I walked over to Colton and Brandon. They walked me to the car parked in the back of the club. Brandon got in his own car while Colton took me to a royal blue TX160. He opened the passenger door for me to get in, I glanced at him and he had an emotionless look on his face. I reluctantly got in, he shut the door fairly hard which made me jump a bit. Did I do something wrong? Why were they all angry all of sudden? When Colton got in the backseat he did not say a word to me. We sat there for a few minutes when Cameron came back and got in the driver's seat. I looked out the window because I was still upset that he yelled at me. The silence was killing me as we were driving so I got my AirPods Pros out of my bag and put them in my ear to listen to my music. Music was always an escape for me because I remember my adoptive mother singing to me when I was sad or upset. “Pray You Catch Me” started playing and I couldn’t help but sing. It was one of my mother’s favorite songs.

You can taste the dishonesty, it’s all over your breath

I felt a hand on my thigh, I stopped singing and looked over at Cameron. He looked relaxed but I could tell something was still bothering him. I looked back at Colton who was on his phone doing something. I diverted my eyes back out the window until I felt someone take out my AirPod. I jerked my head to Cameron.

“I’m sorry”

I took my airpod out of his hand & looked down at my hands. Cameron took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry for yelling at you the way I did. The guy you were talking to is bad news and I want you to stay away from him”

“Who are you to tell me who I can and can’t talk to?”. Cameron looked at me like he was hurt by my words but why would he be? He is married! He has a husband. He took his hands off of my thigh and focused on the road. When he removed his hand a cold feeling washed over me and my body, I couldn’t help the slight shiver that came over me. I wanted him to keep touching me. It was very comforting but I know it is wrong, especially because his husband is in the back seat. We arrived at my house about 15 minutes later. Colton got out of the car to open the door for me. I quietly thanked him. Then it hit me..

“How’d you guys know where I lived? I never told you.”

“Red told us.” Colton said with a small smile on his face. I made an “o” shape with my mouth. That made sense. I walked towards my apartment building when I noticed Colton following me.

“You can stay in the car I won’t be long”

“I can help you”

“No, no need. It is just one bag. I'll be back in 30 minutes tops” I smiled. He nodded his head. I walked in my building towards my apartment.

CAMERON POV

“f**k” I said to myself as soon as Colton and Aphrodite got out the car. I never meant to yell at her the way I did. Seeing Lenelle just pissed me off, I do not like him. Me, Colton and Lenelle have history. I am the Alpha of the Solstice Moon Pack and he is the Alpha of the Black Heart Pack. He has always been jealous of us because we have something he doesn’t. Colton & I have each other and now the Moon Goddess has blessed us with Aphrodite but I might have just blown it. I saw Colton coming back to the car, I knew he was about to get on me. The whole car ride he was using our mind link to fuss at me for upsetting her.

“Why would you yell at her, Cameron?!”

“Ugh, I feel bad enough please do not start, you know how I get when it comes to what’s mine and Lenelle”

“That is NO excuse. If she rejects us it will be YOUR FAULT!” he yelled at me

“I’m sorry”

“Save it.” He was angry with me and I could understand why. Losing a mate is an unbearable experience. It will either kill us or slowly make us lose our minds.

“Baby.. stop being mad at me I’m sorry” I leaned over where he was and planted a kiss on his lips. He didn’t immediately kiss me back so I got more forceful with my kiss. Eventually, he gave in to me like he always did. Colton knew how I could be, he was used to it but we just found our other mate and I knew he loved her already and didn't want to lose her.

“I will watch my temper this weekend” I told him while kissing his nose

“Do you think it is a good idea to take her to the pack so soon? She doesn’t even know about our species..”

“This will give us an opportunity to spend time with her without making her suspicious”

“I know but-”

“No buts baby.. You know we have to get her to agree before we start losing our minds without her”

“Do you really think we can win her over this weekend?”

“Yes. Do you see how she looks at us?”

“But what if she stops herself because we are married to each other?”

“You've been snooping in her thoughts haven't you?”

“I couldn’t help it, they were so loud!”

“Colton!”

“I know.. I know.. I shouldn’t have done that but I just wanted to know what she was thinking”

“Don’t do that again. Not until she consents at least.”

“Yes daddy” I smirk because he knows calling me that turns me on. I looked over to the building door and saw Aphrodite coming out. She had a purple suitcase. She had one purple silk pajamas with purple bunny slippers. A spongebob blanket and pillow. She likes purple & spongebob got it. Colton got out to put her suitcase in the trunk. Aphrodite got in the backseat. I couldn’t stop looking at her. She was so beautiful. She has the sexiest chocolate skin, hazel gray eyes & juicy plump lips I’d love to take a bite out of. She caught me staring and I smiled at her. She gave me a small smile back. Colton got back in the passenger seat and we were off to the pack lands.

“Aphrodite?” I called her. She looked up at me and took one AirPod out

“Yes Cam?”

“Are you hungry? We can stop and get something.”

“I’m not that hungry actually but I will take something to drink”

“Where do you want to get it from?”

“There should be a Wings & Thingz a few miles ahead. We can go there.”

A few minutes later we were in the drive through for Wings & Thingz. I ordered 20 pieces and fries for myself. Colton only got a crispy chicken salad. Aphrodite ended up getting food too. She ordered 8 piece wings and fries with a Daiquiri, an alcoholic drink. We got back on the road, we didn’t even get a few miles when my phone went off. I looked down at my phone, it was my Beta Brandon.

“Yea?”

“How is she?”. When he said she I knew he meant Aphrodite. I was shocked when he told us Aphrodite was his daughter. Almost 22 years ago, his mate lost her life giving birth to Aphrodite. Aphrodite was human so he couldn’t risk bringing her back with him to the pack. He had to do what no man should have to do, which was give up his child. Her adoptive mother, Everlyn Smitt, which just so happened to be his mother, took care of her until her death a year ago. I never thought that our mate would be our friend’s daughter, we’ve known each other since diapers. We are all over 130 years old but it was still shocking. Her coming to the pack lands isn’t only for me and Colton to get her to be our mate, it is also for Brandon so he can rekindle and try to build a relationship with his daughter.

“Good, were eating Wings & Thingz”

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about her being alive, Alpha”. That took me aback because he never calls me Alpha when it is just us. He must have thought he f****d up bad

“You are fine. You did what you thought was best. No one blames you.”

I notice Aphrodite trying to listen to our conversation. We can’t let her know this so soon because she will want to go back home.

“I have to go. I will see you in a few hours” I hung up the phone. I took a peak in the rearview mirror at Aphrodite. She was back into her phone like she wasn’t just trying to ear hustle. I reached over to Colton and grabbed his hand.

“Ask her some questions, let’s get to know her since we have a long drive ahead” I told Colton through our mind link. He nobbed.

“So Aphrodite, do tell us about yourself” Colton broke the silenced to ask

“Uhh it’s not really much to tell. I was an orphan. Got put in the system but my mother adopted me and took care of me. I had a fairly nice life but she died last year which was hard.”

“I’m sorry for your loss”

“Yea.. it’s okay”

“So what about your father?” I looked at Colton like he just lost his mind because why would he ask her that?!

“Uhh I don’t know my father.. Never have.”

“Would you be willing to meet him if he were to step back into your life?”

I could see Aphrodite was really thinking about it

“Honestly.. No, he didn’t want me. He left me. I had a good life, yes but it would have been better with my father. To know he still loved me.”. Colton looked like he just regretted asking that question. I felt so bad for Brandon because if he knew this it would crush him. I’ve seen him grieve over the years for his lost mate and daughter.

“I know he loved you very much” Colton said

“How would you know? You don’t know him!” I could tell Aphrodite was getting upset by this conversation so I decided to change the subject.

“How long have you been singing?” I asked

“Since I was 5 years old. When I got sad or upset, singing was the way my mother helped me feel better and calm down.”

“So you got your love of singing from your adoptive mother. What about your birth mother? Do you know anything about her?” Colton asked her.

“Uhm, Everlyn told me my mother was from Congo. She lived with her tribe, Mongetu-Azonde until my father brought her here to the states.”

“Ahh I see, that’s where you get your beautiful chocolate skin from, respectfully”

She giggled a bit, which I thought was so beautiful. “Yes, that is where.”

“Scellar le français?” (Do you speak French?)

“Oui. Ma mere m’a appris des que j’ai eu l’age de parler.” (Yes. My mother taught me as soon as I was old enough to speak.) I smiled at that because now all of us could talk in French when we were around people that couldn’t be trusted. The car got back silent after that. We were just listening to music, laughing and joking at each other. It made my heart happy because soon we will be like that forever. I couldn’t wait!
