" Pat takes down her uncle and saves the company" Pat's hand shook as she reached for the light switch. Her corridor was dark, but she could feel a shadowy figure in the corner. She took a deep breath and reached for her phone, ready to call the police. But just as she was about to dial, the figure moved and let out a familiar, high-pitched meow. Pat sighed in relief as she slowly opened the door. Her cat ran over to her, purring loudly. "Sorry, Mittens!" she said, laughing. "You scared me! She smiled and dozed off. It had been a week since Pat had confronted her uncle, and she was still reeling from the events that had unfolded. She had never imagined that he would be capable of such things, and she felt both betrayed and furious. As she sat in her office, going over the evidence she had collected, she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She had uncovered the truth, and she was determined to see justice done. She gathered her materials and headed to the boardroom, where she would make her case. As she entered the room, she saw the members of the board sitting around the table, looking at her expectantly. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Ladies and gentlemen of the board," she began, her voice steady and clear. "I have come before you today to present evidence of fraud within our company. It is my belief that our CEO, Mr. Charles, has been stealing from the company and lying about our profits." She laid out her evidence, her heart pounding in her chest. For a moment, the room was silent, as the board members absorbed the information. Then, Mr. Charles spoke up. "These are baseless accusations," he said, his voice cold and dismissive. "You have no proof of any wrongdoing." "I have plenty of proof," Pat replied, her voice firm. "And I will present it to you now." She proceeded to lay out her evidence in meticulous detail, presenting document after document that proved her case. The board members listened in silence, their expressions growing increasingly serious. When Pat had finished, the room was silent for a long moment. Then, the president of the board spoke. "This is a very serious matter," he said, his voice grave. "If what you're saying is true, then we have a serious problem on our hands." He turned to Mr. Charles. "Do you have anything to say in your defense?" he asked. Mr. Charles was silent for a moment, his face pale. Then, he spoke. "I admit that I made some mistakes," he said, his voice shaking. "But I never meant to harm the company. I was only trying to make sure that we were profitable. "That's not an excuse," the president said, his voice firm. "You have betrayed the trust of this company, and you will be held accountable." Mr. Charles was fired, and Pat was appointed to take his place as CEO. In the months that followed, she worked tirelessly to restore the company's reputation and to make amends for the damage that had been done. Pat was walking home from work, feeling satisfied with her day. She had just saved her uncle's company from a big disaster, and she was proud of herself. As she turned the corner onto her street, she saw a man standing on the sidewalk. He was tall and thin, with dark hair and dark eyes. He looked up at Pat as she approached, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. "Hello," he said. His voice was low and smooth. "I've been wanting to meet you." Pat didn't know what to say. Should she keep walking, or should she stop and talk to him? " My name is Dan "he said. Pat was taken aback. She had never seen this man before. "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested," she said. "I'm very tired and stressed, and I have to go home and rest . "She turned and started walking away. But as she walked, she couldn't help but think about the man. "He's not the type of man I want" she said over and over aloud in her mind.
