The last dance

The Castle of the death garden loomed over the green landscape filled with forests and animals, but the animals that guarded the boarder had mysteriously vanished a couple of nights ago. Letters from the entire kingdom had been sent to the queen in panic that they were worried a threat was coming since the guardians were gone, but what they didn't know was that those beasts had been killed for letting in the werewolfs. The Queen had agreed to have an audience with her subjects to ease their worries, but she was still in a bad mood and the results were a mighty storm. Again.

" Lady Silene and Lord Maxwell your highness", one of the members of council announced. Delaney sat on her green and golden throne as she watched the couple come forward. Lady Silene was a smart young woman known for her specialty in mathematics, but she was also known to be quite gossipy, and her dear husband always stood behind her. She had never seen someone so devoted to his wife as Maxwell was.

" Your highness "they said while bowing deeply. Delaney waved her hand, just wanting to be done with it.

Silene and Maxwell glanced at each other before talking.

" We are worried about our safety, some of the townsfolk have been talking about werewolfs" Lady silene said, not meeting her gaze.

Delaney shot her eyes at Alice, who looked at the ground in the back. What was she thinking about going around telling the others about the prisoners?

" What is this about wherewolfs you are talking about, Lady Silene", her asked, her eyes on her nails. No one could see her panic.

" Well, we have been told there are two of them in the castle, and we wanted to ask if they are going to declare war on us. And what are they doing here" Her husband answered. Delany looked around the throne room. The others had stopped talking and had full focus on the couple before her. It seems they all have the same questions.

" There are indeed Werewolfs here. They crossed the border without permission and are right now being questioned about their intentions." She answered. " NEXT " Delaney said.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before the next one, but she wasn't prepared to see Damon standing before her when she opened her eyes. The shadow wisps appeared everywhere, sensing her distressed emotions as she saw him there. Yet they didn't draw their weapons.

" And how did you get here ? " She asked him calmly. He looked around as if he was a guest. The vines on the wall started to grow in size as her anger increased at him for being so calm.

" I was freed alongside my friend" Damon said. Her eyes searched for Alice again at the mention of his friend. And there she was hugging the man who called himself her soulmate. So she did that. Her own friend betrayed her trust for some shapeshifter?!

" And who let you out?" Delaney said, her eyes started to glow a emerald green color, meaning she's pissed as f**k.

Damon looked back at his friend who had his eyes fixated on her, as if worried she was going to hurt his mate. Well, she was known to be ruthless, but even she had some dignity.

" A young girl named Alice told me to come go, and I quoted " my mate " He said. Gasps could be heard all around the throne room as he said those gods-damned words that now ruined everything.

" Your highness, is this true? Have you finally found our king?" One of the subjects shouted to her. Cheers erupted all over the throne room, subjects crying with joy, some even hugging each other. While she sat there, never taking her eyes of Alice, who was now shaking with fear, probably because of realizing what she had really done. Her father and the rest of the council clapped their hands with smiles on their faces, even Lord Daelion seemed happy.

Damon seemed happy for a moment and that's when she lost it. Delaney stood up and vines erupted from every corner. A few of them went up her body almost to contain her, it seemed.

" EVERYBODY OUT. NOW." She screamed. Everyone but Damon, his friend and Alice left in a hurry. She started walking down the stone steps towards Alice. Damon tried to stop her, but she raised her hand and vines slithered too fast for him to react as they wrapped themselves around his body.

Alice was shaking. Her mate started growling at her as his eyes shifted color. She looked at him and said "Move". Alice clutched his arm as tears streamed down her face.

" Please, your highness, I beg you. I just wanted you to feel the happiness," she cried.

" You went against my orders, you betrayed my trust, and you betrayed your own Queen" Delaney said anger lazing every word she said. Alice continued crying while whispering Please. She had seen with her own two eyes what Delaney did with traitors.

" Delaney, please I beg you i will do anything. Please don't kill me" Alice cried.

Delaney went silent for a minute before deciding her permanent punishment.

" You shall leave the death garden, and you will never return. You are not allowed to bid farewell to your family and you shall only leave with your belongings. You have one hour", The queen said trying to control her powers. Gods it would feel so good to just unleash herself on everybody. It seemed she did not even have to tell them to leave Alice, Damon and blond asshole left with hurry to help Alice pack her stuff.

------ 3 days later, Damons pov

The sound of birds singing erupted as soon as they entered the pack where he looked at the backseat where Jason and Alice were sleeping hugging each other. She had stopped crying two hours ago yet they left the deadly garden as Delaney had called it three days ago. Delaney, his mate, had finally found her and then had to leave, so Alice wouldn't get killed.

They arrived at the pack house where most of the pack had gathered. As they stepped out of the car, people cheered, but it died out as soon as Alice stepped out of the car.

Jason growled back and stepped in front of Alice, who seemed unfazed by it.

" What is THAT" Someone from the crowd yelled.

" It smells weird"

"Is it human"

A lot of questions errupted from all around them, Damon didn't even have time to answer before Alice stepped forward.

" I am Alice, Queen Delaney's former Servant and now Jason's mate "she said.

Jason looked proudly at his mate, love filled his gaze. It made Damon's heartache for the same feeling.

" And what are you? We cannot smell your wolf" Gigi, one of their warriors, said.

" I am no shapeshifter "Alice said.

" But WHAT are you " Gigi asked again.

" I am a Druid of nature" Alice said.

The pack just nodded. It seems they grew bored and just accepted her since she's their beta mate. They went on with their business leaving only Damon there.

" Alice" Damon said " what can you tell me about your Queen"

Alice took a deep breath " Maybe we should go somewhere more private"
