35The sniper knew it was a hospital tent, but that didn’t mean it shouldn’t be a target. Whoever it was would be patching up some soldier so he could return to the fight and kill the sniper’s comrades. The sniper was a quarter mile away, high in an oak. Soon it would be light and he would be easily spotted sitting on the bare branch. His back was aching from sitting motionless in the same position for two hours and he was debating whether to adjust his position, when he noticed the shadow which suddenly appeared and was moving through the tent. This would be his third target of the day, and he wasn’t sure if he could register a kill. The first was a miss. It stepped away at the last second. The next was that afternoon, the last member of a squad on a routine patrol. He was in the hospital
