"Victoria, run to the bedroom!" Megumi yelled. "Call your father!"
The man grunted and tried to kick Meg, but she dodged him and sprang to her feet. He took another swipe of the blade at her but he missed her face by a few inches.
She flung her right leg forward, hitting the guy very hard in the belly. He grunted and stumbled backwards. Meg approached him and lashed out with her other leg, catching him in the jaw and sending him to the floor.
Jake showed up then, having heard the commotion from where he was trying to take a dump in the bathroom. He was so stunned by the scene playing in front of him that he could only stand and watch.
