Chapter Nine Wow, what a day! Elizabeth thought. She would never forget it. She looked down the long hallway at the children from her class, both fifth and sixth graders, who took up most of the space on one wall. Elizabeth stood at the end of the line, right behind Katherine. There was a silence that occupied the moment. When Katherine was especially put-out with Elizabeth, the moment could last for at least an hour.
