Chapter Twenty Officer Mike rushed into the house. He found Susanne conscious, groaning and lying on the floor. The house was a mess with overturned furniture and a smashed music box. It was a peek into this family’s life. A slight smile came to Susanne’s face then a grimace. Officer Mike stared and retreated to a time long passed: Graduation, enlistment, and a train station full of parents and girlfriends.
