I am so relieved to be free that I forget to run in zigzags and before I know it another loud bang rings throughout the quiet night. A piercing pain makes itself noticed in my side. I almost sink to the ground in pain and I find myself wanting to cry. Had I really just gotten so close to being free, just to get killed?
