From Oregon, Ken had several options. There were plenty of safe houses on the west coast and throughout the Rockies. She could go to any one of them for support and information. And, of course, returning to Colorado might also be fruitful, provided that Adelaide could be convinced to help find her dad.
But she didn’t want to waste time by traveling. And she wasn’t sure who she could trust. The people who took Dakota somehow knew they were coming, which meant that someone in the network had tipped them off—or that the whole scene had been one big trap, meant to draw out the pesky talisman wielders who’d been shutting down tornadoes.
