It was strange, kissing him. Knowing what he had to do. Knowing that his daughter was waiting outside his bedroom door for a verdict.
But he couldn’t help it. Gage had dressed up gorgeously for their special day. The moment Dakota saw him, he just wanted to take him up in his arms and tell him how utterly breathtaking he looked. He wanted to say all the things he would’ve said if they’d been allowed to get here. That Gage was a shining example of humanity. That he brought hope and light to everyone he met. That the real world was that much darker and less beautiful without him. That Dakota wanted to spend the rest of his life never more than a few paces away from him.
