“We prepare…” Calliope’s words race through Helena’s mind on the drive back to the New Moon house. She rests her head against Artemis’ back, and she grips Artemis’ torso tightly. It is already mid afternoon, and Helena wants nothing more than to get back to the house, pack her bags, and get the next flight home. She’s been in Salem a couple of days, and already her entire life, a life she loves, has been flipped upside down. She wants the comfort of the Daae walls, her books, her friends, and her city back.
