Cheyanne

“Alex.” “You called?” “Your hour is up. Anything you wish to tell me?” “He has two children. They were well hidden but I manage to track them down and get them. They are 30 minutes out.” “Good. Is he in the basement?” “Yes.” I stood and began to walk out of the room leaving Alex just standing there. When I arrived at the basement it was apparent that Alex had already had a few go’s at him. I remembered what he did, poison, Lily. “Your children are beautiful. It took time but I found them. Pure, innocent. It would be a shame if something was to happen to them.” This caught his attention. He definitely had a broken nose, a couple broken ribs. The black eye had already turned from red and puffy to black and purple completely swelling his eye shut. “Don’t” Even that one word had caused him immense pain. However, I didn’t like being told what to happen, especially not from people like him. One clean hit and he was too busy spitting out blood to say another word. He was hurled over in pain. I bent down so my mouth was next to his ear. “Let me tell you what is going to happen. You will tell me who sent you and everyone that knew about your mission or your children will be put in the room next door so you can hear their screams.” He winced, good. That meant he cared about his children. “Names, what are they?” I didn’t have any more time to spend with him. “Mark Bailey. He knows you are killing all of them off, he hoped to get to you before…” “Before I got to him. Who all knew?” “He is the only one I know. Please spare my children.” “Ok.” With one fluid motion I stood and grabbed my gun. One shot in the heart and he was dead. After the shot rang out men came in and bowed. “Dispose of his body.” With that I walked out and left them to their job.  “Alex.” “Yes, Cheyanne?” “Send the children back.” “Who was it?” “Mark Bailey.” His face went white. “The doctor?” “Yes. Now seems like the correct time to make use of the favor the Kings owe me.” “I agree. He must of learned about the list.” He looked at me, most likely to make sure that I was fine. “I will have his head along with everyone else's that is on that list.” “And I will be with you every step of the way.”  “I want to.. What I’m trying to say is..”  “It’s my job, Cheyanne. And I will be with you till the end.” “I’m retiring for the night. Tell Lily I wish to see her.” “As you wish, Cheyanne.” I slowly walked to my room taking in every detail in the hall as I hadn’t walked these halls millions of time. When I reached my room Lily was already sitting at the table with a chess game set up and tea beside her. “Lily.” She jumped. Apparently she hadn’t heard me walk in. Quickly that fear in her face turned to a bright and warm smile. “My apologizes, you scared me.” “So I noticed.” “Hahaha. Did you figure out what you were looking for from that man?” “Yes.” I took my seat and made my first move. I grabbed my cup and slowly sipped it. Peppermint tea. Lily poundered her move then quickly moved her piece. “What is with you and peppermint tea nowadays?” “I’m sorry. Do you not like it?” She waited my answer. I moved my Bishop to take out her knight. “I did not say that. I simply asked.” “It reminds me of my mom.”  “Oh?” I took her bishop. “She used to make it for me when I was a little girl and when we came back to Russia I looked forward to making it for you.”  “I have never heard you speak of your mother before.” I took her rook. “She passed when I was 7.” A fake smile appeared on her lips. That pained me.  “If she influenced who you are today then she must have been something.” Her other bishop was gone. “Thank you Madam.” She blushed. “Of course. Are you sure you are fine with going with Alex and me?”A pawn was now in my possession. “Yes! I want to know just how hot the Kings brothers really are.” “You are special Lily.”I took another pawn.  “Hahaha!” “Check mate.” “You win again! I must say you are much better at me then this. I have never even won one game.” She picked up the game and then picked up the tea. She walked towards the door. “Goodnight Madam.” “Goodnight Lily.” She walked out, turning off the lights with her. Then she slowly closed the door. Sitting in dark, before I crawled in bed I whispered, “I am a monster.”
