Chapter eight: The accident

*Melody’s POV*

As I got into the bathroom and locked, I sunk down to the floor. I silently sobbed; I was in so much pain. My whole body was aching.

I heard Connor begging for a chance to explain, but I could not, I just could not.

It hurt and he did not seem to care, or maybe he did not hear me as I cried and cried silently begging him to stop.

I calmed down to hear him say,

“I am truly sorry Melody. However, I will give you space then we can talk. I am heading down to the bar. I will be back in an hour; I am so sorry. I love you Melody.”

Once he said that I decided that I would shower and then leave this resort for good.

I jumped into the shower and got done as quick as I could and went to find my bag, I grabbed the closest clothing I got a hold of.

The moment I was dressed I grabbed my phone and ordered an uber. I proceeded to grab my bag and head to the front of the resort to meet my uber.

I did not wait long before my uber arrived, I got into the back seat and told the driver to step on it. He drove off as fast as he could.

My drop off location was quite far as I decided as it was safer to get a hotel room on the other side of the city.

I decided to take a nap as the ride was an hour and a half and it was quite late in the evening. Not to mention the traumatic situation I was just in.

The last thing I remember was everything going black as I shut my eyes to take that nap.

*Connor’s POV*

I sat at the bar not really wanting to drink. I could not wait the full hour, so after 45 minutes I decided that I would head back to the suite.

When I got to the room it was empty and when I looked towards the bathroom and realised it was empty too.

Panic filled me, had she left me?

Of course not, I cannot overreact every time she is not in my sights, and I am not aware of her whereabouts.

I decided to nap, I still had the drinks from earlier with Emily to sleep off.

Not long after my head had hit the pillow did the heaviness of sleep hit me and my eyes shut.

*Third persons POV*

While Melody was asleep in the uber, a drunk driver had jumped a traffic light and hit them.

Their car tumbling over and leaving the uber driver slightly injured and Melody seriously injured. Due to the accident Melody went into a coma.

Meanwhile Connors nap turned into a full-on sleep. When he woke up, he was so out of it he had not noticed that Melody was not with him.

He switched the tv on and saw that it was an accident, he did not pay much attention to the news until he heard her name Melody Jacobs.

He realised she was in the accident and was not in the room…

He ran out of the room and lodge to get to his car.

He drove as fast as he could to get to the hospital. When he got there, he ran straight to the receptionist and shouted,

“Melody Jacobs? What room is Melody Jacobs?”

“Sorry and who are you to the patient?”

He did not have time for this.

“Husband. I am her husband.”

“Right, sorry sir. Section E, room 21.”

I walked in the room and saw her fast asleep and sat by her side.

I held her hand and sat by her side sobbing. This was all my fault; I should have controlled myself. I had you hurt you and almost died trying to escape me.

I am so sorry Melody just please be okay.
