For a moment, Wale was speechless as he realized that Eva deeply loves him. Unfortunately, he doesn't feel the same way about her. The naked truth that was staring him in the face was that there is no way he would leave her without breaking her heart. Gosh! What have I gotten myself into? he thought. He doesn't want to break her heart but how else could he go about it? He has two options. It's either he leaves her which will most likely lead to breaking her heart or he stays with her in a loveless relationship which will lead to a life of misery for him if they get married. He doesn't see himself choosing the latter because he is not ready to live a life of misery. And from the way she has been sounding since when they went to church, she is hoping their relationship will lead to marriage.
