Carolina,
I stared in horror as Giulia stabbed herself in the neck, the sound of the blade piercing her skin making my stomach churn. Even in my weakened state, I couldn't help but think that Enzo and Giulia were perfect matches – two psychopaths who fit each other like pieces of a twisted puzzle.
As I struggled to process the scene before me, Giulia walked towards me, her eyes gleaming with a manic intensity.
"You know what?" she said, her voice dripping with malice. "Enzo will be here soon. Let's get everything ready." Before I could even react, she reached out and touched the blood on her neck, then smeared it across my coat.
I jerked back, my eyes wide with revulsion. "What are you doing?" I spat, trying to push her away. Giulia's grip tightened around my jaw, her fingers digging into my skin.
"Keep your mouth shut," she hissed, her breath hot against my face. I felt a wave of fear wash over me as she leaned in closer, her eyes blazing with a sinister intensity.
I raised my head, my eyes locking onto Giulia's as she rubbed the blood all over me. Her hands touched mine, the sticky warmth making my skin crawl. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I gazed up at her, my voice barely above a whisper. "Zylaria offended Enzo, not you. Why are you so obsessed and angry, like she wronged you directly?"
Giulia's movements paused, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat. For a fleeting moment, I saw a glimmer of fear in her gaze, and my mind racing, I thought, "Oh, is it that this lady has something to do with Zylaria? Is that why she's going to such great lengths to make me admit I'm Zylaria? She's even more invested than Enzo."
But Giulia quickly snapped out of her momentary lapse, her face hardening as she hissed, "You better keep your mouth shut. Whoever offends my mate, offends me. So keep your guard down and your mouth shut." Her voice was venomous, but I sensed a deeper emotion lurking beneath the surface, one that she was desperate to keep hidden.
Giulia turned to the guard, her voice confident. "I think we're all set. We should be leaving now." The guard nodded, his movements swift and efficient as he walked towards me. I struggled against my restraints, fear rising in my chest.
"Leave me! Leave me!" I pleaded, but it was no use. The guard tied my hands and legs, his movements rough. A sharp slap across my face silenced my protests, leaving my cheek stinging.
Giulia walked over to the guard, taking his handkerchief from him.
She placed it around my neck, her eyes glinting with a sinister light. "So, let's begin," she said, her voice dripping with malice. I felt a surge of dread as the guard opened the door, and Giulia's grip on the handkerchief tightened. "Let's go," she said, her voice cold.
The guard pushed me forward, and I stumbled out into the unknown, my heart racing with fear.
I was dragged across the floor, my body scraping against the cold surface as the guards pulled me along. The sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway, growing louder with each passing moment. Giulia's eyes lit up with a mixture of excitement and anticipation.
"That must be Enzo," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Everybody, be in character."
The driver winced, his hand instinctively going to the back of his neck as if he was in pain. Giulia's grip on the handkerchief around my neck tightened, her face contorting in a mixture of pain and rage.
"You're really a demon," she hissed, her voice venomous. "You're really a demon, and Enzo will deal with you."
I thought to myself, "Can you imagine this lady is really hard to destroy? She's like a chameleon, adapting to every situation." I felt a sense of hopelessness wash over me.
Their plan had been meticulously executed, leaving me defenseless. No matter what, Enzo wouldn't believe my story. I'd be punished either way, but the likelihood of him believing me was slim to none. The thought sent a chill down my spine.
The sound of Enzo's men's voices echoed through the air, calling out for Giulia.
"Giulia! Giulia!" they shouted.
Giulia's voice rang out, confident and clear. "I'm here! We are here!" As she said "We are here," I took a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever punishment Enzo had in store for me. The plan had been meticulously crafted to make it seem like I was desperate to escape, and now all I could do was wait for the consequences.
As Enzo and his men drew closer, Even with his mask on his face, I could see his eyes burned with anger and rage. I knew my punishment would be severe, perhaps even doubled.
In that moment, I wished I could reach out to my boss, to alert my journalist team that I was in trouble. Maybe they could help me, maybe they could save me.
It seemed like a long shot, but it was my only hope. I felt a surge of desperation, my mind racing for a better thought of escape and rescue. But for now, I was at Enzo's mercy, and I knew it.
I watched in shock as Giulia suddenly burst into tears, her body shaking with sobs. She stumbled towards Enzo, her eyes wild with distress.
"This witch stabbed me!" she cried, pointing at me. "She stabbed me and hit the driver with a fire extinguisher! We had just escaped the warehouse explosion and was on our way to safety, and I never knew she'd picked up a knife inside the car."
Giulia's words were laced with venom, and her accusations seemed to fuel Enzo's anger. I felt a chill run down my spine as Enzo's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing through me. Giulia continued to sob, her voice rising in hysteria.
"This lady is a witch, Enzo! She's the same Zylaria from years ago who hurt you. She's a demon, and she hasn't repented."
I felt a wave of despair wash over me, knowing that Giulia's performance was convincing Enzo of my guilt and Enzo's anger seemed to be building to a boiling point.
