Third person POV The Alpha and the Beta family were having after party celebrations. They were getting drunk. Two days to Alpha Heir getting his wolf too. Beta Brian was haywire during the pack run, but the reigning Alpha felt this young Beta' wolf strong. So he just let go of the idea of a mad wolf slip away. That' the topic of another day. Post Midnight, around half an hour past one, a heart wrenching howl pierced in the silence of the night, then silence be fell. The whole pack heard the screech of the wolf whose heart was seemingly torn out of its body. As an Alpha, he could feel a strong wolf wanting to shun and curse the pack. It wanted to go rogue. The patrol guards were alerted and ran towards the sound. The Alpha himself shifted and ran, followed by Betas. When they approached near the pack boundaries, they all saw Beta Brian writhing away in pain. His wolf held to its senses by a thin string of subconscious, a little off and it would become rogue. Alpha' aura commanded it to submit. Beta Brian' wolf Bradley retreated to the abyss seeking solace in the moon Goddess embrace leaving his human counterpart for good. Unbeknownst, to the Alpha, he thought the wolf is merely dormant from the pain. Brian body took a worn out human form wounded at various spots. He collapsed. He was taken to the pack hospital by Beta Stephen, a worried father for his eldest son's life. The doctor confirmed it's the pain of rejection and that his wolf would be dormant for a while. He also confirmed that his healing would be slow like a human. "We are looking at several weeks for the wounds to heal. That to the mental trauma would need a lot more patience for him to recover. His wolf is in deep sleep and it will take years for him to wake up.", the doctor addressed the group, no one in particular. Alpha and Beta families wanted blood. The woman who was responsible for this. The head warrior was asked to conduct an investigation. But no one could find the answer until Beta Brian would wake up. The next question the pack faced the next morning was would they allow a dormant wolf Beta as the next in line Beta or would they ask his younger brother to be the next Beta. Should Brian choose a mate before Sunday or not. Tomorrow it is Alpha Heirs Chris' 18th birthday. The pack was torn between happiness and sadness. The Alpha and Beta families were more torn with decisions now more than ever. ... STEPHEN POV This has thus far been the most hectic week. I only see blood and red. It's difficult to reign my emotions in, had it not been for Alpha' aura and his silent command. My eldest lies in the hospital bed, his mother, my chosen mate cries over him. My youngest is still at school too young to take the position right now. All our plans have taken a back seat. After a lot of deliberation, we think that if Brian doesn't wake up by Saturday, Keanan, my youngest, will be standing-in for Brian and fulfilling the Beta duties of the pack till Brian wakes up. Wolf or not, we think it's dormant, should wake up after Brian has a chosen mate. Training another wolf out of the pack or even within the pack will be too much of a hassle. We don't have Gamma's in line as the previous Gamma family had a girl who got marked and mated now settled in another pack. We also don't want an outsider in the core group. Brian will have to pull himself together and I will be there helping from the shadows. The event on Sunday is extremely important. We are declaring ourselves King and Queen. I will be stepping down from the pack duties of Beta to take up Beta duties to the King. Our Alpha has decided to proclaim himself as the king in the presence of another royalty leaving no room for argument. We just have to hide Brian' s condition till he is back. Our head warrior has been tracking the steps of Brian' s last night endeavours.,.o We still have no clue if her mate is within or outside the pack. There seems to be only Brian' s scent. No other unusual scent beside him. If I find the girl, i will make her a slave and have her serve him for the rest of her long life. ... Sabrina' POV Something happened last night. The air has shifted. Debby has been too quiet. The daily work is following the same routine yet every one is tight-lipped and it feels we slaves are walking on egg shells. It feels like the calm before a storm Tomorrow is Alpha Heir' birthday, a day he will get his wolf. Even he is brooding. Something big happened. I am sure of it. ... Third person POV Today, the Alpha Heir gets his wolf at midnight under the blessing of a full moon night. The pack celebrations were on full swing to celebrate the welcome of next in line Alpha wolf. However, the core families, the Alpha and Beta family were still pondering about decisions. The Alpha Heir was reluctant to part ways from Brian his to be Beta. They had been friends ever since they were born. Their mothers conceived together and were in the hospital the same time. Only Beta was born 2 days before the due date, something every one said mark of a strong wolf. The Alpha Heir wondered what happened to Beta Brian' wolf. No one knows the name of his wolf yet. ... Alpha Heir Samuel' POV Amidst the buzzing and preparation for the celebration, I feel sad. This is not how I wanted my special day to be. After all it's a once in a life time moment. My mom says it's okay to be selfish and be happy for oneself, but seeing Brian like that all hitched up to wires at the hospital like a wolfless human is pathetic. I still want him to take on Beta duties, even if Keanan is standing in for him. Brian has been trained for the position and Keanen is a little kid who never bothered with pack responsibilities. He has been a wild wolf and I can't trust him and ounce for anything. Keanen and I never looked eye to eye, don't know what's his problem is. He always was around slave orphans, possibly tormenting them. I would have done so too but for me. I hate those dirty slaves. They just take a lot of our pack food and clothing for free. They are just these dirty animals lurking around the pack. A few days back, I sent them toiletries laced with wolfsbane. If a handful dies before the ceremony on Sunday good for me, if they eventually fade off wonderful. I don't understand why dad had to be bigger self and save those beings. Some other pack could have taken them. I guess he wanted to create an impression. I won't make the stupid mistakes my dad made. My wolf and I will be ruthless to the wolfless kind, slaves and orphans. I mean if your guardians and dead why are you still alive. I felt something stirr in my mind and a buzz like an aura. Is it me? My wolf? Looks like the Moon Godess has given me the perfect wolf who agrees with me. He even appeared in the afternoon instead of midnight. He must be strong. I want to celebrate his welcome today. After training I had my lunch, napped for sometime. Eventually by evening time I am getting dressed up. There are two outfits for one before and one after the shift for after party. We won't sleep tonight. Only party, party, party!
