Dante wasn't in bed, when morning rolled by, and his side was cold meaning he's got up a long time ago. Rolling out of bed, she headed down the stairs to grab a glass of water, for her patched throat. Her eyes were crusty and she could barely keep them open. The event of last night played in her head as she descended the marble stairs and walked into the kitchen. She'd kissesdDante. Motherfucking Dante Costa. He was twice her age for Gods sake. It was wrong but part of her enjoyed it and hoped for more.
The kitchen was a mess when she walked, Aiden was leaning against the counter, his dark hair messy on top of his head, his eyes dropping and he was in nothing but a pair of shorts that hung low on his waist. He was hungover, it was evident from the groan that escaped his lips every once in a while.
"You look like s**t" Luciana exclaimed, taking a seat at the island and studying her best friend with silent appraisal. Aiden looked startled as if he hadn't seen her walk in.
"You don't look any better" he retorted, then he paused and stared thoughtfully "why are you here and what happened to you?" . Luciana stared at him without uttering a word, she didn't have to because at that very moment Dante walked into the room in all his glory, he was dressed in a black Suit, the buttons of the white shirt opened a few at the top, so she could see his chest hair, his dark hair was sleeked back carefully, giving him a younger appearance. Luciana gulped and her face went different shades of red when he stared at her.
Gosh the man was a walking devil.
"Dad.." Adrian started to say but his father cut him short with a nice hit to the jaw. Luciana heard a crack, followed by a loud groan from Adrian but she knew better than to interfere in matters concerning them both.
"Avevi un solo lavoro, proteggere Luciana, ma invece di farlo, te ne sei andato a festeggiare come un cretino, lei è quasi morta!"
(You had one job to protect Luciana but you went around partying like a Fool, she almost died)". Adrian turned his attention to her and she turned her gaze away immediately.
She wasn't going to blame Adrian. It wasn't his job to protect her. No matter how his father said it but maybe a little part of her had hoped he'd been the one to save me and not his father. That said, Dante took a seat at the table and some house staff brought breakfast. Luciana stared at the food, her appetite suddenly waning.
" I'm not that hungry" she said, Donate looked up and glared, without saying a word. Luciana took that as a cue to stuff the food down her throat even though she was going to throw it up later.
"Luciana I want you to follow me to the company today"
Luciana and Adrian exchanged looks. What? Spend an entire day with Dante, alone. Hell no. She wasn't about to put herself in that situation .
Adrian cleared his throat "Actually, Luciana and I were going to check out the tracks". Dante raised an eyebrow and Luciana nodded hurriedly even though she hadn't planned to step foot outside at all.
" Her injuries are still fresh, mind you, it's not advisable"
"I'll be fine" she announced hurriedly to which Dante shrugged and continued eating his toast. He didn't say much, after, he gulped down his cup of coffee and disappeared somewhere in the house, her eyes trailing him as he went.
"Did something happen? You look like you've seen a ghost" Adrian pointed out, jabbing his fork in the air for emphasis.
"I'm not hungry" she muttered shoving the plats away ns heading up the stairs. As she turned fhe corner, she collided with something hard.
"Cazzo" Dante cursed. Luciana rubbed her throbbing temple and made to walk past him but he grabbed her arm and shoved her back. "Are you avoiding me?" She shook her head, making Dante chuckle. He leaned forward until his lips brushed her ear, sending waves of heat in between her legs " That's what I thought".
He straightened his body, dusting imaginary dirt from his suit "Come on, I'll change your bandage for you". He left no room for argument, as they walked into his bathroom like the last time. Luciana pulled herself unto the counter and waited as Dante grabbed the first aid box. He looked really hot in the suit but she didn't say it, she swallowed her comment and just watched.
Dante rolled her sleeve up and untied the bandage. The wound was no longer bleeding but it didn't look good either. "if this doesn't get better in a few days, we may have to go to the hospital"
Luciana froze and she shoved Dante's hand away "No hospitals". Dante raised an eyebrow, he could feel her heart beat increase and her breathe hd become harsh.
"Hey, hey, no hospitals yeah?" She nodded, turning her eyes away and refusing to look him in the eye. Dante finished cleaning the wound and stared. He had something to say.
"About last night, it was a mistake" Luciana stared at him but she didn't say anything, she didn't trust herself to not be crude. She could t deny the fact that she had a crush on Dante but then in all morality it was wrong. "I shouldn't have".
She shrugged, pulling herself down from the counter and heading out of the door.
"Luciana?" she paused without turning "Don't Tell Adrian"
with a single nod, she was out of the door, slamming it as she went.
