Lie 2

She entered the room; no one looked at her as everyone was doing their own thing. She quietly sat down in an empty chair and put down her things. She glanced around the room, taking in the busy atmosphere, and decided to wait patiently for the professor's arrival. With a small smile, she began to organize her belongings, preparing for the meeting ahead. Everyone was startled when a heavy and sumptuous aura emitted from the three people who just entered the room. The three were in their own world talking to each other like no one was looking at them. Their confident demeanor and captivating presence immediately drew the attention of everyone in the room. It was as if their energy filled the space, commanding respect and admiration from those around them. "The three mighty deity" "The what?" 'Yeah dude, same question. Who?' "Never mind if you don't get it" She winced. "Oh my! I am so lucky to be the same class as them" She is becoming irritated by how everyone in this school continues to praise them as if they are gods. She knows that they are just ordinary people with flaws and weaknesses, and wishes others would see them in a more realistic light. The constant idolization is starting to wear on her patience. "Ugh.. " Frustrated, she put her hands to her ears and thumped her head slightly on the table. She had a pounding headache from the loud whispers. Classes begin when the professor arrives, a little while after the boys appear. Since this is the first day, the professor just covered a preview of the entire semester's lectures. "I expect everyone to complete the advance reading of your lesson on the provided website. It is accessible through your tablets and phones, so there should be no excuse for not doing so. I also encourage all of you to communicate and build friendships with one another." The professors reminded them. "See you next meeting " When the professor exited the room, she remembered what her next class was. She looked at her phone to make sure she was right. Blinked. 'Ability training? Where is this?' She looked at the three boys who were not far from her. She gulped in nervousness to what she planned to do, she will wait for the three and follow them. Sighs. 'let's just pretend to fix our things, that is not quite pretending because I really need to fix it' While putting her things in her bag she keeps glancing at the boys still waiting for them to stand. When three stands up that becomes her cue to do the same thing. She trailed behind the three boys at a careful distance, making sure not to draw any attention to herself. They led her to a secluded part of the campus where no other students were around; confusion filled her as she stopped in her tracks—only to realize the boys had turned around and were now staring directly at her. "Who are you?" "Miss, please stop stalking us" "Creep" The three boys stood still for a moment, their gazes fixed on her. Then, without breaking eye contact, they spoke in unison. "Wha... I am not following you" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She quickly averted her gaze, hoping they wouldn't notice the sudden flush in her cheeks. Her heart raced as she looked away, trying to hide the wave of embarrassment that washed over her under their intense, synchronized stare. "Really? You're telling me that you have the same class as us?" The man with a headset stands with a quiet confidence, tall and lean. Dressed in sleek, stylish clothes with hints of deep purple, he carries himself like someone used to getting what he wants, yet distant from it all. "Yes." She nodded. The man next to him sneered. The man stands with a confrontational stance, arms crossed, eyes narrowed with judgment. His presence is like a flickering flame—tense, volatile, and ready to ignite. "Yui, calm down." The man on the other side calmly said. He is tall and well-groomed, his ambiance shouting with effortless grace. His posture is relaxed but confident, like someone who knows who he is and doesn't need to prove it. "May I see your ID, so we can know what your section is?" He asks her while handing his hand out for her to give him her identification. She nodded and opened her phone to show them her ID. The boys looked at it with seriousness, and after a moment of silence, their expressions softened with acceptance, a silent understanding passing between them as they each gave a small, approving nod. She smiled and said, "So... I am not a stalker, I'm just lost " The three boys slightly chuckled in her situation. "So you are the new kid in our section, what's so special about you?" The man with a scary face named Yui asks her. "I actually don't know." She blurted it out, then quickly looked away, clearly embarrassed and too shy to meet their eyes. Yui laughed out loud with a teasing tone. "Stop teasing her Yui," The calm boy scolded Yui. "How about we all go together? Come with us since we are classmates" She nodded in excitement, "Thanks! " She looked at the man in the middle, who was just staring at her like he was reading a book—calm and kind of unsettling. They all walked together, casually chatting—though it was mostly the calm guy doing the talking, introducing his friends one by one. "I'm Miles Hunter," He said, introducing himself. "This is Jude Simons, and that's Yui Shin," He added, nodding toward each of them in turn. "my name is Farah, Farah Jones" She also introduced herself for the first time in her days here at this school. "So Farah, what's your ability?" "Water manipulation... but I don't know if I can control it that well" She admitted softly, her voice tinged with sadness. She heard another sneer coming from Yui, and so they all looked at him. "What?" He asked with a playful grin, pretending to be innocent. Miles just sighed and never bothered to indulge his friends' tactics. "Don't mind him, he just likes to tease people. So how did you get in here? Did your parents enrolled you here after you awakened" "oh, well I'm actually an orphan. My uncle disowned me and throw me here because well he said, 'you monster deserve to be isolated.'" She laughed a little under her breath, though it didn't reach her eyes. "So yeah... here I am." The three boys were quiet for a moment. Even Yui's smirk faltered. Miles gave her a look of genuine sympathy. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." Jude nodded silently beside him, his hands now tucked into his jacket pockets. Yui looked away, muttering, "Tch... people are stupid." Though he wouldn't say it, there was a hint of understanding in his tone. Farah blinked, caught off guard by the subtle shift in energy. They weren't judging her... they were listening. Miles smiled gently. "Well, whatever your past is... you're one of us now." Jude added, "Welcome to the chaos." Yui grinned again, arms behind his head. "You better learn fast though, 'cause this place eats slow learners alive." Farah let out a soft laugh, a real one this time. "Then I guess I better keep up." They continued walking toward the training grounds, the initial awkwardness fading just enough for something else to form—a quiet, unspoken bond. One that might just survive the chaos ahead. When they arrived at the training grounds, a professor stood waiting for them, speaking quietly with a poised woman who appeared to be in her fifties. Her posture was straight, her aura calm but commanding. "That's the principal," Miles leaned toward Farah and softly pointed at the woman in a suit. Farah blinked, her eyes shifting from Miles back to the woman. Both adults noticed the approaching group, and the conversation between them paused. The principal turned toward the students with a warm, almost motherly smile. "Ah, my boys are here. I hope you all enjoyed your vacation with your families." "We did, Mrs. Principal," Miles responded with a respectful nod and a gentle smile. The principal's gaze then settled on Farah, her eyes kind but curious. "And this must be the new Special S student?" Farah stood up a little straighter, heart pounding. But she managed a polite smile as she nodded. "I'm Farah Jones. Thank you for accepting me here." The principal's smile didn't waver. "Welcome, Ms. Jones. We're happy to have you. You're among the best here, so don't be afraid to shine." Farah bowed her head slightly, both grateful and anxious under the weight of that statement. "Well, to be honest," The principal said with a pleasant smile, "I'm still quite curious about what this young lady can do." She turned to Farah. "The scanner might show us levels and potential, but I'd like to witness it for myself." Farah froze. A chill ran down her spine as if cold water had been poured over her. The principal's words were kind, but the pressure behind them made the hair on her arms stand. She swallowed, forcing a nervous smile while biting her nails. "I... actually can't control my ability very well yet. I'm sorry if I disappoint you, Mrs. Principal." Her voice carried a soft sadness, her eyes lowering slightly in shame. But the principal's expression didn't change. Her warmth remained steady, unwavering. "I'm sure it's not as bad as you think," She said gently. "I trust my students. If you were placed in Special S, it's because you've already proven your worth—whether you see it yet or not." Farah blinked, surprised by the kindness in her tone. For the first time in a while, she felt seen—not as a burden or a mistake, but as someone with potential. The professor clapped his hands to gather everyone's attention. "Alright, students. Let's begin today's ability training session. You'll each demonstrate your current level of control. Don't worry—we're not here to judge, just observe and see what you learned last semester." Farah's heart beat faster as she stood near the edge, watching others prepare themselves. "Farah Jones," the professor called, looking down at his clipboard. "You'll go first." She froze. Her throat tightened. Me? Miles gave her an encouraging look. Jude gave her a subtle nod. Yui smirked like he was expecting a show. Farah stepped forward, hands trembling slightly as she moved to the center. The principal watched with quiet curiosity, arms folded behind her back. She took a deep breath, raised her hands, and reached toward the water current. At first, nothing happened. The silence grew heavy. Then, a flicker. A small stream of water arises... and then loses shape—splattering to the ground. She winced and tried again, pulling harder this time. A wave formed in the air, shaky and unstable. Her eyes widened in panic as it trembled wildly, then burst apart—splashing across the floor and soaking her shoes. The class remained silent. Farah's cheeks flushed with shame. She lowered her hands, breathing hard, trying not to look at anyone. "I—I'm sorry," She whispered. The professor scribbled something down but offered a soft, "Thank you, Farah. It's alright." Yui gave a small snort, quickly muffled. Miles shot him a warning glance. The principal stepped forward, expression frozen. Farah felt the principal's disappointment and confusion. "Control comes with time. Power is not about what you can do on the first try—it's about the discipline to keep trying. Don't be disheartened, Ms. Jones. You have something strong inside you. I felt it." Farah blinked at her, surprised. But deep inside, the embarrassment is still twisted like a knot. She returned to her place beside the boys in silence, shoulders heavy. "It's alright," Miles said gently, placing a reassuring hand on Farah's shoulder. "We can improve your ability. Let's work hard together, okay? We'll help you." Farah looked up at him, surprised by the warmth in his voice. Just as her lips began to form a grateful smile— "We will?" Yui cut in, eyebrows raised as he gave Miles a sharp, are-you-serious look. Jude didn't say a word, but the glance he shot Miles said exactly the same thing. His arms crossed, his expression unreadable—but clearly unimpressed. Miles, ever calm, turned slightly and gave Yui a pointed glance. "Yes, Yui. We will help her." Yui blinked, then slowly started to laugh—like Miles had just suggested something completely absurd. "You're kidding, right?" He said between chuckles. "You want me to be a tutor now?" "You're not that great at teamwork either," Miles shot back with a small smirk. "Might do you some good." Farah watched them quietly, unsure whether to feel embarrassed or touched. Maybe both. Jude sighed through his nose and muttered under his breath, "This is going to be a long semester." Despite their resistance, something unspoken hung in the air—like maybe, just maybe, they would help her. Even if they didn't want to admit it yet.
