Chapter 31 Sam gave up, slipped from the yard, and returned to the house through the afternoon shadows. She and Whirlwind were at an impasse. Maybe it was time to ask Bushy for help. Now Charlie was back, the time was fast approaching when she’d have to come clean with Bushy — come clean with the whole town, for that matter. It was a terrifying prospect, one she hoped could be put off for a few more days. Charlie had said she didn’t want to go into Currajong yet, didn’t want the curious eyes of the townsfolk upon her.
