CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX The next morning, a slave boy brings Peter a tunic with flames on it. Dressing, Peter follows the boy escorts him to the stands, shaking his head. “Am I not battling this morn?” He looks the boy in the eyes. The boy shakes his head. “No, sir, not this morn. I’m afraid they drew poor Coro for Alvah’s first battle.” He pushes his luck, leaning in towards Peter, and whispers. “Let us hope his Airwick powers can hold him for a time.” He steps back, extending his hand towards the stands, and waits for Peter to proceed. Glancing at Sarah, Peter shrugs and walks to his seat in the middle of the stands. The two of them watch on as the battle commences. Peter studies Alvah’s battle strategy once more.
