CHAPTER ELEVEN Soon they reach the corridor, passing more bedroom doors the whole way. After another ten minutes, they arrive at a set of stairs leading down to another hallway of bedrooms, leading to another set of stairs. Going down, they follow the long winding case to yet another hallway full of both male and female lecturing voices and the occasional laughter. In one room at the end of the hall, the faint sound of explosions makes them jump. Peter leans down to the aesthetic keyhole of the room with explosions. He squeezes an eye shut, lips parting and curling at the corner. From what’s visible, a thick birch tree, in full bloom, stands in front of a group of boys and girls a few years younger than him and Sarah. The branches move about, mixing liquids, solids, and oozes into bowls
