CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Peter and Sarah continue to walk up flights of stairs, down hallways, and around corners until they find the right room number.
The door is closed.
Someone talks on the other side.
Peter bends down, closing an eye, and peeps through the keyhole.
A man and woman fight each other with fire on a stage in front of an audience of students Peter and Sarah’s age. A line of fire comes at the door.
Peter jumps, falling backwards, and hits his head on the floor.
A loud cracking passes through the hallway.
Sarah lets out a short scream, covering her mouth, and stoops to him. Her knees break open more, throbbing.
