Kayla's pov
I didn't see Dante's face for the next two days following the encounter in the garden. To be honest, I didn't feel like forcing myself to confront him, but I wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. I suppose it was better this way.
I spent time with Tiana during those two days. We talked about random topics and watched movies. I didn't realize I needed it, but it felt good, almost like we were going to be close friends. In an odd way, I felt like I could breathe when I was around her, and she was easy to talk to.
I considered going down to paint once more on the third day. Since Dante hadn't mentioned it and I didn't know how he would respond, I wasn't sure if I should. However, Tiana asked me from her room, "Are you planning to paint today?
