I made an effort to behave normally. Even though I made an effort to speak with Kinsey, he continued to stare whenever I looked up.
Why is he observing me in that manner?
I caught him staring again with my side eye. Still very strong. My whole body is still tense.
Suddenly, Dante's voice broke the stillness.
"Why do you act that way?
"What do you mean?" I asked, trying not to show how shocked I was. My fork slipped in my hand.
Dante squinted his eyes. You're behaving as though there's a problem with you.
I didn't respond. How could I respond?
That Jake was observing me as if I had committed a crime I couldn't recall?

Then all of a sudden tap! I was kicked under the table by Kinsey. She didn't have to say anything,
