Alone. Useless. Out of place.
I started walking. No real
directíon. Just away from the noise.
Away from the judgment I imagined
behind every stare.
I moved to a more peaceful corner and let out a slow breath. I heard my name at that point. "Kayla?”
I briefly blinked as if I were seeing a ghost. "Augustine? I muttered.
His expression brightened. "Oh my God, Kayla! Why are you in this place?
I laughed breathlessly. "Why am I in this place?
"You look so pretty," he said, surveying me with wide eyes. To be honest, I wasn't sure it was you.
I was shocked to learn about the wedding when I returned to town. Are you and Dante married?
I gave a feeble nod. "Yes, I didn't plan it either. I lost everything, including your number."
