16Day received a message from Raj with the details of his ferry to Naxos. He was in Athens and would be arriving on the Worldchampion Jet from Piraeus that docked mid-afternoon that same day. Day replied that he and Helen would meet the boat.
Worldchampion JetThe Worldchampion Jet was the newest and fastest of the vessels that brought passengers from Athens. It also served such fashionable venues as the islands of Santorini and Mykonos, and was impressive in the extreme. Its huge bulk, in a livery of black and white, approached the harbour with a steadiness that suggested regal status. Giving vent to two massive blasts of the horn, the first long and the second short, it approached the quay and began its controlled pirouette, enabling it to present its vehicle ramp to the port.
