I started to hear sirens go off around the block and I saw the flashing blue lights, and at first, I was relieved maybe this nightmare was over, but I was also aware that I might be very wrong. When the cops walked up Mr. Pervy said “oh thank god you are here, this man was trying to kidnap my daughter” he pointed at Jake. “no, he was not he was rescuing me from that man, who has done terrible terrible things to me”. The man I think is my dad's friend said “wait what? Excuse me like what?” I looked down at my shoes and did not respond. What if he thought I was a slut or that I was asking for attention? It happened in the past why would right now be any different. The officer looked in between all of, “Yes miss like what can you please elaborate? I can not help you unless you say something.” “He uh hit me and r***d me, please don’t make me go back with him.” I said pleading with the officer, Jake came up next to me, took my hand and wrapped an arm around me. I saw my dad’s friend nod and then the officer went up to Mr. Pervy and arrested him, he was shocked and said, “you are going to believe a stupid little girl over me?” He sounded astonished and very upset. Ha that is right I said in my mind finally something goes the way I needed it to go. I was very shocked I thought all cops were the same. “Yes, I am, there are too many cops in this world who wouldn’t believe her, and from the discolored bruise under her eye it seems like she is telling the truth. Now you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to a lawyer, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you.” Mr. Pervy tried to get loose, but he ultimately failed. The cop pushed him up against the cruiser and said, “we can do this the easy way or the hard way, overall, it is your choice.” And with that they left, I finally was able to breathe. Jake pulled away and asked, “are you okay?” I nodded as tears were streaming down my face. Jake hugged me tighter, and whispered “would you like to go home?” I nodded slightly and got back into his car, and we drove off, back down the roads of my childhood. Back to my childhood house. When we got there I knew that this was the place, the place where Jake and I would start a new life, and a new family.
