When Alaric returned to his apartment from Dreamscape Studios, the sky had already turned completely dark. Despite owning a spacious mansion, he had been staying in this apartment ever since he helped Soraya at the bar.
The place wasn't big, nor was it particularly well-equipped or luxurious—it was nothing compared to his mansion. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to leave.
He was afraid Soraya would show up, only to find him gone.
Two weeks ago, they had made plans to watch the fireworks show in a neighboring city. That show was happening tomorrow.
