“Wake up, get dressed, we are leaving now.” As I struggled to get out of bed, I woke up to Zachary getting all dressed up. “I said get dressed!” He yelled at me.
I quickly put on a dress with flower prints all over, I followed him downstairs and got into his car, I tapped my phone screen and it was fifteen minutes past eight in the morning.
“Don’t do this, I don’t want to get rid of this baby.” I pleaded with him as he stopped the car a few minutes after driving, he signaled his driver who came down and pulled me out. He didn’t even look at me for a second even as I begged him.
While on the examination table with my legs spread apart all I could think of was how I ended up with someone this evil, tears fell off my face as I stared blankly at the plain white wall of the hospital. My eyes were red and swollen, and my nose was running.
“We are done.” The doctor said with her voice sounding so distant but at the same time bringing me back from my thoughts. I didn’t even notice as I had asked her to give me something so I wouldn’t feel any pain.
I let out a big sigh as I wiped off the tears, stood up, and changed into my dress. The doctor gave me some medications for the pains I might feel later and also some tampons in case I bleed later.
As I walked back to the car park, the moment I caught a glimpse of Zachary, everything that had happened in three years rushed back to my mind and I couldn’t hold back any tears.
I remembered how Zachary’s grandfather Gray was so nice and kind to me, how I was hit by his driver, and how he rushed me to the hospital. How he begged me to marry his grandson because of my kind heart and in exchange, he would take care of my mom’s hospital bills.
How happy I was knowing I was marrying the man I had had a crush on for years, and how he started treating me badly a year after our marriage immediately after his grandfather passed on.
“Do you want to stand there all day? Get in right now! I have got important meetings to attend to.” His voice echoed, jolting me out of my thoughts.
“Please just let me go, I’m tired of all this.” I knelt in front of the car and begged him.
“Get her in!” He ordered his driver to drag me In immediately.
“For being a good girl I got you a present and it’s waiting for you at home.” He said with a smile on his face.
Immediately we got home he came down, and opened the door for me with a huge smile on his face, I came down and found my way straight to the bedroom. Getting into the bedroom, I saw a gift box placed carefully on the bed. I picked it up and it read Dior, I threw it back almost immediately on the bed with so much anger in me.
For the first time, I didn’t thank him for the gift he got for me. He came inside, walked close to me, and sat beside me, he held my hands in his.
“You know this was necessary, we are not ready for kids right now and soon we will have kids, I know you are going to be a great mom,” he said as he placed a kiss on my cheek. I couldn’t say anything as I kept on crying.
He got mad that I ignored him and he stormed out of the house. I picked up my phone and called my best friend Nicole.
“He has done it again,” I told her as I burst into tears again, trying to control myself I managed to explain everything to her.
“Calm down babes, you just have to do whatever he says. He is your husband and he makes all the decisions. I will come to see you when I’m done with work, know that I love you and I will always be here for you, we will get through this together.”
Nicole’s words calmed me down, and when she was done I had stopped crying, only little sobs every other minute. I thanked her and ended the call.
I had no strength left in me again, I didn’t even know when I dozed off.

Ping, I heard a notification sound on my cell phone.
“You b***h, I hope he kills you soon so I can finally be with him.” That was what the message said and immediately my heart sank to my stomach, who could this be? I wondered.
I just concluded it could be one of the numerous girls that have a crush on my husband but I still have to show Zachary when he gets home, those were the thoughts I had.
My phone rang bringing me back to reality. It was our family’s doctor. She asked me to come to the hospital because she would love to have a chat with me.
Her words made my heart pump so quickly that I could hear my heart pounding. I had expected bad news from her since it was just two weeks after Zachary dragged me to the hospital and got rid of my baby. What could be the problem now? I wondered as I got my keys and drove straight to the hospital.
Before I left the house I sent a text to Zachary telling him I was going to see my mom and I might be there for the whole day and probably spend the night there. I didn’t want to give him a clue about where I was going since the doctor asked me to come alone.
As I heard the information the doctor had for me my heart flew out my chest, I rubbed my tummy as tears ran down my cheeks.
“Your baby is okay, he doesn’t love you. Run away now that you can, no mother deserves to lose their baby against her will.” The doctor said tapping my shoulder.
I left the doctor’s office with so much joy, I didn’t think I would ever be happy like this again. I got in my car and sat down for a few seconds rubbing my tummy. “Mummy is going to do everything in her power to protect you.”
This was all I needed to get away from Zachary, my only priority now was to save my baby.
I drove into my compound and saw that my husband’s car was parked outside. He rarely comes home this early. What was he doing at home by this time of the day? I wondered.
“He mustn’t find out,” I said to myself as I got down from the car.
I walked over to the kitchen to get water to drink seeing that I was feeling dehydrated, while in the kitchen I heard voices coming from upstairs. I walked slowly to see what Zachary was doing since he was the only one at home.
“Oh, Zach…yes! You f*ck me so good!” The lady kept on screaming.
“f**k! You are the woman I want, the one I want to have my unborn kids. Not that b***h that calls herself my wife.”
My hands were trembling as I walked upstairs with the glass of water in my hands, their love-making noises got nastier with each step I took. I could not believe what was happening.
"How could you do this to me?" I screamed at the top of my voice. My hands trembled in fear and the glass of water shattered.
I froze as I stared at the heartless creature in front of me.
