Training

“Aria!” I turn around and see Lindsey running towards me waving her arms frantically. Lindsey is the gammas daughter. She has long curly red hair and green eyes. She is tall and slim. She also happens to be my best friend. “Hey girl,” I say as she catches up to me. “Did you hear about tomorrow?” Lindsey ask. “No what’s tomorrow?” “There’s an alpha meeting! Can you believe it?! All of the alphas are coming here!” She exclaims excitedly. I laugh and roll my eyes because I know exactly why she is so excited. Lindsey is a huge lover of love. She wants to find her mate and always gets excited when people that she hasn’t met come to the pack. The Moon Goddess blesses wolves with mates. Mates are suppose to be the other half of our souls, so they say. “I wonder what the meeting is about. The usual Alpha meeting isn’t for another two months and they never host it here.” I say puzzled. “I don’t know but you’ll hear no complaints from me!” She says and winks. We reach the training grounds and set our water bottles on the ground. I start stretching while Lindsey is throwing her hair up. There are around 100 warriors here, Crescent Moon is a relatively small pack. We only have about 500 pack members. “What up ladies?” Ask Zane as he walks up beside us and takes his shirt off. Zane is around 6 feet tall. He’s brunette with brown eyes and tan skin. His arms are covered in tattoos as well as his chest and back. He incredibly muscular and has a dreamy six pack. Power radiates from him as he is the soon to be alpha. Girls drool over him. He’s attractive and he knows it. He’s cocky as hell and a total play boy. “Hey Zane. Shouldn’t you be getting ready for the alpha meeting?” I ask with my eyebrow raised in question. He smiles at me. “I’ll help with that after training. I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to see my favorite girl now could I?” He says and I roll my eyes. Zane is a flirt with everyone but lately it seems he has taken an interest in me. Now don’t get me wrong, he’s definitely drool worthy but a relationship definitely isn’t something I want right now. “What is the meeting about anyways?” Lindsey ask. His smile drops. “Rogues.” He says. “Three surrounding packs have been attacked in the last two days and there is a chance that we will be too.” I look at him puzzled. Rogue attacks are normal but nothing we can’t take care of. Rogues are wolves that were cast out of their packs for numerous reasons. “They’re not normal rogue attacks. It’s not just a handful of rogues. Each attack has had at least 30 rogues crossing the borders,” he explains. I want to ask more questions but training is starting. As we are training I can’t help but wonder what is going on with the rogues. They have never attacked packs with these numbers. Normally there are only around 3 rogues at a time. Something has to be happening.
