"Miss..." I snapped around to encounter the regular maid who brought my meal throughout the day. As usual, she dropped the tray of bananas and oats on the end table close to the couch, and before I could utter a word of thanks, she was out of the door. I exhaled heavily and sat down to enjoy my meal.
I was rounding up my breakfast when a knock came at the door. I looked towards it, wondering who had the decency to knock. It's been a while since anyone respected my privacy. "Come in," I voiced.
An armored guard walked in, a broad smile on his striking face. He was a tall man with a neatly trimmed beard and matted black hair. He had distinct brown eyes and a heavily built physique bigger than the other guards. But above all, he had a very kind smile. I stood abruptly.
