9-Dylan Brooksville

“Are you feeling better, Madam?” A needle was injected into my body. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the doctor in a white coat. He asked me gently and patiently about my condition. “Arthur, where is he?” Leigh & Orange had a strange look on his face as I struggled to get up and look for him. And Angelo, whom Arthur had already met, was so groggy, like a hangover, that I wanted to take the needle out of my hand. “Ma'am, you need medical attention.” “I'm not sick. Why should I be treated?” I was just tired and couldn't sleep at night because I was looking for Arthur, but that didn't mean I was sick. Leigh & Orange had a strange look in his eyes, as if he were looking at someone who was really sick. “Where is Arthur? Tell him to come to me.” “Madame, isn't your master missing?” Leigh & Orange looked even more frightened. He looked at the Doctor next to him. “What the hell is going on?” “Maybe it's because she's sick of missing you.” What are they talking about? I've met Arthur, I've even met Angelo, father and son, we could have moved on without a care in the world, but now I have to listen to their words, I really feel headache. I raised my hand to signal them to pause the discussion. “I'm not sick, but now I need to see Arthur and Angelo. He'll be scared without me.” “Angelo, who is it?” What the Hell is Leigh & Orange joking about? Who's Angelo? Angelo is Arthur and my son. But how did Arthur find Angelo? Angelo's still in the hospital. He's not well enough to leave. No, I have to tell Arthur to get Angelo back to the hospital. I pulled the needle out of my hand and was about to get out of bed when Leigh & Orange, who was standing nearby, rushed up and shouted at the doctor, “Hurry up with the tranquilizer, what are you waiting for? !” What tranquilizer? What are they talking about? Before I could react, the needle was injected into my arm again, and the sharp tingling almost instantly robbed me of all will. I fainted again. “Madame is in a bad state, she is beginning to hallucinate, and if her husband does not return, it will only get worse.” “I know, but the master...” Leigh & Orange Sighed, but didn't finish. What's the matter with him? He's come back, and he knows Angelo is our son. He's accepted Angelo. What's Leigh & Orange Afraid of. I fell into a deep sleep, only this time, my dream is not the peace of the past, covered with blood Arthur appeared in front of me, he did not say anything, but those dark green eyes have been looking at me. “Arthur, What's the matter?” When I tried to get close, Arthur disappeared like an illusion. What the hell is going on? I was caught in an endless cycle of dreams, with Arthur and Angelo Smiling at me and Arthur looking at me, covered in blood. I woke up from a nightmare, but this time I saw a worried Lian. He asked me carefully, Madam, do you remember what happened? Yeah, what happened? Since Arthur's disappearance, my spirits have deteriorated, to the point of severe hallucinations. I made a scene in the manor, calling Arthur's name by holding a stationary post, and I hurt every servant who tried to get near him. What have I Done? Because of my mental condition, the entire manor servants are like a great enemy, they 24-hour rotation with me, for fear of my accident. When I think back on what I did during that time, shame and guilt overflowed, and since Arthur's disappearance, I have hurt more than myself. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.” I buried my face in tears, tears trickling down my fingers, but I didn't want them to see me so vulnerable. It must have been harder for them than it was for me, waiting for a missing owner and taking care of my crazy wife. “Madame, you need to get well. The master will come back one day.” Yeah, he'll be back. As I walked out of the nightmare with such hopes, a One Hour Photo suddenly burst into the manor. I've been in much better spirits lately, and though I'm still weak, I'm not as crazy as I was before, and I know that as long as there's no news, Arthur will be alive and well somewhere, i'll be right here waiting for his return. But when I came back from my walk in the courtyard, there was an elegant man sitting on the sofa in the living room, sipping coffee. “Madame, this is the master's brother, Dylan Brooksville.” Looking at the familiar pair of dark green eyes across him, he looked like Arthur in some ways, but his temperament was completely different. Arthur was mature but domineering. When facing me, he would reveal his tender side, but in front of the man with the same dark green eyes, looking at people like a snake general, let a person shudder. “Miss Eve, I am Arthur's brother, Dylan, and you are as beautiful as they say you are, and it is an honor to meet you,” he said as he rose to greet me, but I did not like the way he looked at me. Nevertheless, as Arthur's wife, it is natural that I should give his brother enough dignity, which is the manner of a host's house. I bent slightly. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Dylan.” I didn't call him brother. On the one hand, I didn't know him very well. This was the first time I'd met him. On the other hand, I'd heard about Dylan from Arthur, but Arthur hadn't said much about him at the time, i don't think he is as insignificant as Arthur says. “I heard that Arthur is missing. This is sad news. As an elder brother, I want to do my part. I wonder if Miss Eve has any requests. I can help.” Dylan was smiling, but I couldn't see it in his eyes. The man was testing me. I told the servant to take a coat and put it on. “That was before,” I said casually. “Arthur has returned safely. Mr. Dylan doesn't have to worry about that.” Acting was one of my strengths, and in the years I raised Angelo alone, I was able to put on a good show with people I didn't care about, and I was able to keep my cool as long as I didn't have to deal with people I cared about. Clearly, Dylan's intentions weren't simple. He wanted to know what was going on, and although I didn't know what his endgame was, to protect what Arthur had left behind, I had to make sure he didn't find anything. “Arthur has returned?” A look of surprise flashed across Dylan's face, but he quickly regained his composure. Seeing him like this, I immediately thought of something. Maybe he had something to do with Arthur's disappearance. I still tell him about Arthur, said he has been at home since the return of recuperation, or even to attend to work. “The management of the family business is really complicated. Sometimes when I see him in the study working on those documents, I get a headache just looking at one or two lines. I really envy Mr. Dylan for being able to do what he wants to do and not be shackled by his status as the heir to the family business.” I said it on purpose, and after seeing Dylan's face contorted by it, I was sure it hit a nerve. It wasn't clear if Arthur's disappearance was related to him, but he was suspicious of Arthur's sudden appearance. After all, everyone knew that the two brothers weren't on good terms. One was the heir of the family, and the other was the child of a mistress. They were very different. When Arthur took over the family business, by then, Dylan will have lost everything. He knew this, and would never have any good impression of Arthur, which was why his concern was superfluous. “You Say Arthur is back. Why doesn't he come out to see me? Is he afraid?” “Mr. Dylan, you're joking. Arthur's just tired. Last Night...” Suddenly, I smiled shyly and pretended to show the red marks on my body, “He is really an intemperate man. I clearly said I didn't want him, but he refused to give me what I wanted. Mr. Dylan, you must help me persuade him next time we meet.” After I said this calmly, I could clearly feel Dylan's expression, perhaps because I had acted too truthfully, as he glimpsed the marks on me, subconsciously it must have been Arthur who left it on me. After all, this is the house of Brooksville, and I wouldn't be stupid enough to find a man here, except that Arthur is back. Dylan's face looked particularly grim, as if he had confirmed this fact, and he stood up, opening his mouth somewhat awkwardly, “It seems I've come at a bad time. Next time you're free, arrange an appointment for me with Arthur. I'd like to have a word with him in person.” “Certainly, Mr. Dylan, but are you leaving?” Dylan nodded. “I just remembered something I have to take care of, so I'll leave you to it.” I looked at his coffee on the coffee table, still steaming, but within a few minutes, he couldn't wait. It seems that something is really up. “Leigh & Orange, can I trust you?” When I saw Dylan get into the car, I asked Leigh & Orange, who was next to me, something I didn't understand. He nodded. “Of course you can trust me, Madam.” Good. I had Leann put a team on Dylan 24 hours a day. He looked at me in confusion, and I just told him that following Dylan might lead to Arthur. His appearance was coincidental, as if he had made a point of confirming what a mess it was without Arthur, but how could I let him. I looked at the red marks hidden under my cuffs because my skin was more prone to bruising than normal during needle therapy, and I didn't think it would be a use for me. By the way, I should thank him for giving me at least new hope in my search. Late at night, Leigh & Orange came into my room. “Madam, as you requested, I have sent men after Dylan, and indeed discovered a most startling secret.” I put down my magazine and listened quietly to what he said next. I've been up all night waiting to hear from him, and as I expected, Dylan is really something. He was in secret contact with members of the Mafia, and although he could not confirm exactly what the two men were talking about, he seemed to be in a panic, as if he was afraid that his secret would be found out. “Madame, do you think he had something to do with the disappearance of the Master?” “Just a guess.” The elder brother, who was not close to him, suddenly appeared at his brother's house to take care of his missing case. This was not something a normal person would do. It was more like a test. It seemed as long as he was sure Arthur wouldn't show up, he could move on. I don't know what he's up to, but if he's involved in Arthur's disappearance, if we follow him, we'll find something. I had Leann put him under 24-hour surveillance, waiting for new leads, and within 12 hours of his meeting with the Mafia, a large group of mafia members began searching the waters. If nothing else, they were looking for Arthur's body. It wasn't until this moment that I really panicked. If my guess is right, Arthur is dead now. He may have died at the bottom of the ocean, but I can't believe he's dead without seeing his body. “Ma'am, do you want to keep an eye on him?” Of course, if anything were to happen to Arthur, I would never let him. But it's more important that Arthur comes back. I want him to come back. That's more important than anything. Dylan didn't find Arthur's body. He was in a panic. He kept blaming the Mafia for not killing Arthur himself. Until now, I wasn't sure that Dylan was behind the whole thing. But now that Arthur's life is in doubt, my lie will be exposed, and when it does, what will I do, give Dylan everything that Arthur has worked so hard to build? No, I'm not gonna let him! It rained heavily outside the window, and when I stood at the window looking out, a deep sense of powerlessness overflowed from the bottom of my heart. Arthur, what do I do? When my eyes looked to the distance, but unexpectedly saw a familiar figure! I ran madly into the rain. Leigh & Orange ran out with an umbrella, but when he saw the man in front of him, he was stunned. “Welcome back, Arthur.” I couldn't tell the difference between tears and rain. I approached him cautiously, my bruised body crumbling. I hugged him and told Leigh & Orange to call the family doctor, he is in urgent need of medical treatment. I never felt better to see Arthur again. I stood by his bed, my fingertips touching his skin. I was afraid, it was another dream, just like the time when he first disappeared, like a madman, I looked for him in the manor, even the pillar as him. But now, he finally came back, although covered with scars, but at least still alive. Looking at his sleeping appearance, I felt an unprecedented peace of mind, this period of time the pressure suddenly away, I finally do not have to worry about his life and death.
