1886 Words
Third Person’s Omniscient Point of View The air was filled with a sense of a new future, promise, and hope. The cathedral slowly began to fill with friends and family of both the Ace and Beck family, all ecstatic to see the ceremony. Little did they know that this ceremony had nothing to do with love. Strings of yellow daffodils hung from the ceiling, At the end of each seated aisle, vanilla scented candles hung from green vines that arched over a white gold accent carpet that covered the aisle. While everyone eagerly awaited the bride and groom and the bridal party, an imposter slowly made her way into the church with no interest in the wedding at all. Isabel looked around with a bit of fascination, admiring the decor. She was able to get past the guards with little effort, she did have an invitation after all. While everyone found their way into where the ceremony would take place, Isabel found her own way down a disregarded hall. She looked around cautiously before slipping the earpiece she had tucked away in her dress back into her ear. “Raina, I’m in..” she whispered. Raina was standing outside a bit closer to the church to view all the guests coming in but still out of sight. Although the cathedral had no cameras, Raina did have access to the floor plans which she was carefully inspecting on her tablet. “There is only one place in the cathedral that overlooks the ceremony from above. The fourth floor on the left hand side. The place is closed off due to the renovations. That is most likely where Francisco and the others will be” Raina gave Isabel strict directions to follow, she ordered that Isabel checked in with her in five minutes until then she would be on her own. Raina still had to initiate her plan. She connected her comms with Aaron who currently had his hands full. When Christina woke up, she couldn’t register her thoughts. Her body was too high on fear and adrenaline to think rationally. She was sitting in a chair with her hands tied behind her and her ankles strapped to the legs of the chair. She took deep breaths trying to make sense of what was going on, the last image she had was a foreigner rendering her unconscious. As her mind began to ease, she took notice of her surroundings, immediately confusion struck her as she realized she was sitting in the middle of the dancefloor of the reception hall. Everything was criminally familiar to her, it felt like a joke was being played until she saw the stranger, Aaron walk across her field of view completely unhinged. Aaron had no care in the world to speak or even acknowledge Christina, whom he called ‘the spoiled princess’. He saw that Christina had awakened but instead decided to walk to the nearest table and fill a glass up with champagne which not only brought disgust from Christina, but anger. Already his nonchalant attitude pricked her skin. “You, Americano! You’re going to pay for this! Merde-” Christina cussed trying to wiggle out of the knotted rope that bound her to the chair. Aaron took a slight sip of champagne before turning around lazily to approach the mess he caused upon himself. He watched her foolishly trying to get free which caused him to chuckle lightly and took another swing of the golden refreshment. When Christina realized she was only making a fool of herself, she stopped the ruckus and slowly met eyes with her kidnapper. She took notice of his appearance, his scotch brown colored eyes and viking gold hair. His chiseled aquiline nose only complimented his defined jawline and prominent freckle covered cheekbones. His thin lips were shaded with a light pink. “Whatcha’ doin princess? Doing some type of sketch for the police?” His dialect was different from what she was used to, only confirming that he was not from Italy. Christina scoffed but was slightly embarrassed from stealing too many looks. “My family will kill you, just you wait, Bastardo-” Christina looked away from the perpetrator which gave him enough time to steal a few looks for himself. He had never met her in real life, but he saw the pictures of her and heard all the gossip. She was shorter from what he anticipated, but everything else stayed true. Her natural tight brown curls had been straightened down to loose beach waves that reached her waist. Her face was a delicate heart shape, thin nose, rose colored high cheeks, full lips, and striking sea moss green eyes. “Your family is a joke, and you are too princess now if ya don’t mind me” Aaron almost felt ridiculous putting himself in such proximity with someone he despised. He took a gulp of his champagne finishing the glass and anxiously looked around if he could find anything stronger. Christina, who was already feeling agitated about the day, now had to deal with a sad excuse of a man who kept calling her out of her name and disrespecting her family. Christina narrowed her eyes as she darted them towards him. She watched him rummage around the perfectly set up area like a savage. “Who do you think you are?! Your entitlement is disgusting and your lack of knowledge is pitiful but humorous” Christina felt a rise in her anger only wanted to get a rise out of him. Aaron, who found the bar completely shelved, decided to make himself a proper drink if he were to deal with babysitting duties. Aaron knew he was far from entitled, he thought it was funny that it was coming from someone who never worked a day in her life. He did wish he didn’t know so much about Christina or anyone in the Ace family but unfortunately his unhealthy hatred for the family fueled him to get to know them in efforts to take them down. “Christiana Guinerva Asso, born June 22. Grew up here in Amalfi, took frequent trips to Puerto Rico, went to the best schools in Italy, hates crawfish, became a disappointment to her family by the age of what? 15? Correct me if I’m wrong-” Aaron was in the middle of pouring himself a drink when he halted, waiting for Christina to correct him but she stayed silent, completely mortified at what this man knew of her. Aaron took her silence as a sign to continue, he dropped a few ice cubes in his glass after he was done pouring the tequila, he then made his way around the bar slowly walking back up to Christina. “But the minute you stepped out of Italy, the kids made fun of you, how you dressed, how you spoke, how you acted, your lack of understanding when it came to any culture outside of yours. So you erased Christiana, and became Christina, who is suddenly oppressed, breaking boundaries, trying so hard to be liked . You’re asking me who I think I am? I think you should be asking yourself, princess, you went as far as completely disregarding your Italian accent and your name” Christina couldn't do anything but sit there wondering how this man she did not know of, contain so much information about her. She felt like she was being cut up and examined by him without her consent or knowledge. Her red tinted lips pressed into a fine line trying to contain her emotions so she wouldn’t unveil any more of herself to him. While Aaron shrugged watching her shift uncomfortably in her seat, he promised that he wouldn’t harm Christina, if it were up to him, he would’ve shot her dead hours ago. So he did the only thing he could do. “I’m sorr-, Did you want a drink? Look at me being a bad host-” He asked, slightly spitting up his drink, Christina couldn’t tell by looking into his wide eyes whether or not he was being serious or taunting her. “Come in Aaron? It's Raina, How’s everything going?” Aaron almost forgot where he was and the situation he was currently in. Immediately he put his drink down on a nearby table and put distance between him and Christina, who looked over confused, who quickly seized the opportunity where Aaron had his back turned towards her. “Yes, everything is fine, what’s going on at the wedding?” Aaron asked into his earpiece, he was waiting anxiously for further instructions, he didn’t know how much longer he could be around Christina, her existence alone absolutely repulsed him. There was a change of plans, due to our unexpected visitor. I anonymously told Phillip and Tara about Christina’s kidnapping. I know both of them, neither one of them wants to risk the wedding from not happening. They will pull all the guards from the wedding, leaving the ceremony unguarded without alerting the bride, the groom, and the families. That way we can get Francisco out, then meet Carmine on the coast where she will be waiting for us on a boat. Aaron you are more at risk, I need you to get out of the reception area before the guards get there, and make sure Christina is secure” Soon after dropping the details, Aaron cut off the connection with Raina, trying to consume every last bit of detail. Aaron pulled the earpiece out from his ear and took a deep breath before turning around slowly. “Alright princess, I have good news, your chivalry is on the way-” As Aaron turned around, the condescending smirk on his face dissipated when he saw an empty dance floor with discarded rope. For the few moments Aaron had his back towards her, Christina struggled to keep quiet but made it her mission to get free from her captor. All it took was a bit of twisting and tugs and the rope that wrapped around her wrists trickled down to the floor. She wasted no time in unbounding her ankles. The thought of running away didn’t pass her mind at all, Christina’s pride took over, keeping a quiet steady pace she lifted up the wooden chair but kept herself low until Aaron turned around completely unaware of her escape. Christina lifted the chair up far above her ahead, and before Aaron could react the last thing he saw was a chair whipping across his field of vision. Christina took satisfaction seeing the man who was twice her size plummet down to the floor, knocked out cold. Meanwhile back at the wedding, although two of the bridesmaids and one groomsmen was missing the show still went on without any kind of suspicion. Tara and Philip had taken the guards to retrieve the stolen princess. With quite a few absences, not a single soul noticed, after all everyone was there to witness the unimaginable, Sebastiano finally marrying. Sebastiano’s family all dreamed of this moment, seeing him walk down the aisle settling down in hopes of carrying on the Ace name with an heir to the kingdom they’ve built. Now the time has finally come for the wedding to commence. “Entering, Sebastiano Asso..”
