Once I had settled in, Miur left on his gentle giant of a horse, leaving behind a blessing and promise on the land that as long as the people who lived here allowed me to stay, they would prosper. I did get a little teary waving him good-bye. We'd become good friends, and he was the closest connection I had to my brother Nehcor. I had a feeling I'd see him again someday, though, and he did too. It definitely felt odd, being accepted so readily and happily.
